I use AKG HSC 271

Very expensive, but the sound is crazy clean and you don't hear the environment around you.

yep, it's made for the pro in audio editing so the sound is amazing in detail.

audio... detail?

Once you tryed those headphones, you find out all the greatness of sound "detail".

It's really crazy how much your losing audio "information" with normal headphones.

Na I'm not wealthy, I have a brother that is a master at finding best price and understand that I'm an extreme user of what i use. With those headphone you can change each piece very easily as they break from over use. This mean those headphone will last me many years.

So instead of changing every couple months 20$ headphones that sound bad and break just by looking at them, it's better to get hardware that will last a long time, so on the long term you will end up investing less money then if you choose the cheap headphones that you need to change regularly.

Finally, having a good and clear sound allows you to keep the sound much lower in volume, because to has the same level of detail with bad headphone you need to increase the volume and the higher the volume the greater the harm for your hears. So you will mess up you hears with crappy sound, you will pay for that the rest if your life. And having a good hear is something you can't buy or fix.

You know since many years, people have been using walkman, diskman, Ipod with very bad headphone. As a result they listen to it loud. And right doctors notice an epidemic of early deafness from people around 25-35 years old people as a result.

Everything you do today will have an effect on your future, so... does you future worth 20$ or 600$ :?:

You make a good point. I have 150 dollar headphones myself but my mic is external, The sound quality of the headphones is gorgeous whether it's meant for this purpose or not. I am a culprit of listening to music through cruddy earbuds though, very convenient when you go places to not have bulky headphones. I listen to a lot of music... almost constantly but I don't normally play it loudly. I can say sadly that my ears aren't the best already and it is a frightening proposition that deafness may set in early, I'll keep it in mind.

I have a 30 dollar headset. With me hearing the lag on vent, I sound static-y. Almost like a stormtrooper.
So I like my crappy audio quality.

SnafuAce, has that mic come in yet? We need to play Civ!

Yeah. And when someone isn't on so we don't have to listen to him whine about how much he wants to play Men of War.
