eh, well im new to camcorders and will be doing research and the such, but i am looking into getting one to record trips as well as church mission trips (all-Salvador and Philadelphia for example).

im looking for a price range of 200-300 dollars and hopefully HD.

if any of you guys have suggestions for me to look at i would be greatfull.

deryni i know your a film buff and all and looking into directing so you might know alot about cameras, not sure about camcorders.

You might as well get a normal camera at this point. The quality now is really good even on those.

If you're gonna make 'professional' movies and edit them afterwards in a DVD or something, you should get a real camcorder. If it's just for fun like for uploading on facebook, buy a normal camera. Here you can get a good normal cam for 200-300 euros don't know bout camcorders but they'll probably cost more, although I guess you can get an older version who shoots good enough for 200-300 dollars...

@Kyle: you're best option is to go with Sony. The prices of their camcorders have plunged lately!
@Kinsh: nice dog :P
