Since probably around 100 000 people asked me this question here is a mini guide about the process of putting a video from a game on YouTube and how to make sure it look good and stay under 100 meg or under 1 gig with the youtube multiple uploader.
Recording the gameplay:
To record any game play you need to actually get a recording software.
I personally use Fraps It’s a recording software that record any DirectX image on your screen, there is a small demo, that allow you to record some sec of gameplay. Now if you plan to record more then a few sec you need to buy it. It’s not very expensive and is a life long license.
If you do not have money there is some alternative like:
My main recommendation is is the free recording application included with xfire. Once you have Xfire install go in the Xfire option to activate it and choose two keys to launch it. Xfire video recording does a good job considering it’s free and doesn’t put watermark on your video.
There is also Camstudio. It is an open source recorder (meaning it’s free and developed for free). It work really well but it’s not compatible with some sound card. So, maybe a solution to this would be to record your computer sound with the software Audacity. So when it comes to editing your video you can can try to make fit both the sound and images. (This trick might also be useful apply to the following software.)
There is GameCam but as far as I know the trial version doesn’t record sound but does a good job recording some game. I had trouble in the past with specific games.
HyperCam The demo of this software allow you to record 10 min. It’s seem a good recording software, but it might be a little complicated for those without experience in the domain.
To record xbox 360, playstation 3, Wii, you can check this video
NOTE: This is not me on the video
Now note that the resulting videos from all those application will be huge, think between 200 meg to 5 gig. Recording Videos take a LOT of Space on you disk. If you do not have space to spare, I recommend forgetting about making videos.
Once your game play is recorded the next step is to edit it.
The main recommendation I can give for software for none linear editing is Windows Movie Maker. It’s a software that come with windows, and you can find it in menu Start/Programs accessories folder. If for some unknown reason you happen not to have it. you can find it there. It’s also a very generalize video editing software so there is tons of information around the net that can answer your questions.
Here is a good tutorial that show how to use Windows Media Maker to make videos for Youtube.
Now if you are willing to pay for a software I would recommend to buy Adobe Premier Element. This is a professional software and it is affordable… It seem to have been design in large part to answer the need of people that make videos for Youtube and this is what I currently use.
(by the way if you know any other good and free editing software warn me!)
Once you choose your software, you can now edit you video with it. (there is tons of tutorial about that on the net, if you have question search a little on google)
Now comes the Time to Compile your videos
You first need to choose a resolution,
Here is a quote from youtube help.
We specifically recommend the MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 640×480 resolution with MP3 audio.
Now once you have compile your videos choosing the setting you like, you video may be a little to big. So you can recompile it in more space efficient codex. So you might also be able to create smaller file with .mp4 using the ffmpeg codex by using the “Super” compiling tool.
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
(the download is under the google adds down the page)
You could also encode it in .avi as said before, if you want to use the Xvid codex
http://www.koepi.org/xvid you can get it there
It’s not a perfect codex but it’s very good when it come to size. You can also use that tool to recompile your first recording file before you actually start editing. This way you could gain space at the source.
If you want to experiment different .avi codex, you can go get VirtualDub
It a very effectives compiler of .avi videos.
So I hope this guide will help you create your own contend.
Feel free to leave comment, trick, question, etc.
AND please say on TOPIC
god that sounds complex. so you have to download several programs to make these clips then?

well it’s a lot of exploration, learning and testing, so enjoy this guide, the result of years of slow learning ;)

Do u know how to change frames per second or sumthin on a movie cuz i made 1 ands its super fast and i cant get it to go slower. I think it might of did that because it was too long but i shortened it and it still is messed up. Plz help lol
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 4:38 pm
hehe, I don’t think that’s a frames per second problem, you must have made time compression or something like that :)
Explain a little the context or maybe just try to start over and don’t make any time compression :)
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 4:44 pm
sry for the stupid qeustion, lol, but im kinda new at recorders and stuff. Wat u mean by context? If ur askin wat kind of program im using its hypercam2
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 4:55 pm
hehe, that’s ok, i’m not a specialist either.
I was asking the program.
So what you say is that you recorded and it appear as a “fast foward” kind of video?
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 5:01 pm
ya thats excactly wats happening, i cant figure out how to get it slower either
BTW im makin a Gaugamela remake with RTW, i saw that u did that too, lol
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 5:08 pm
i just tryed to record some halo, seem i got the same problem, hmm that’s weird ;)
yeah my gaugamela wasn’t a great attempt… ;)
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 5:11 pm
ok after a check i think it’s caused by the video compressor, when i don’t use auto detect it doesn’t seem to have the problem…
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
i thought it was good
So do u have any suggestions or should i just redo it (again -_-) this vid makin is frustratin, how do u do it? lol
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 5:17 pm
oh lol i just posted after u did, didnt see it
so wat should i change it too besides atuoselect?
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 5:18 pm

Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 5:34 pm
I been working really hard on designing a YouTube type clone completely for Video Gameplay. Hopefully when its out of beta we will be able to upload gorgious 1gig+ files. I’m shooting for quality.
The site is http://www.pvptube.com
I have a video tutorial in the “Help” section located on the website if anyone needs additional help.

hey attila, when i try to upload a vid to youtube that is like 20 minutes long and in like 178 meg it says that i cant upload past 100meg. Do u know a way to reduce the size (other than making it shorter) ? lol thx
Posted on April 22nd, 2007 at 5:55 pm
well youtube don’t allow more then 10 min (unless you are a director for sometime now).
As for the size, use Super, Xvid codex should help, make the resolution 320×240, bitrate to 1411, reduce the audio quality maybe. Make it 25, 15, 10 or 6 frame per second. (fps)
Other then that can’t help much
Posted on April 22nd, 2007 at 6:05 pm
Ok ill try that thx m8

Hi Attila ! When you record your videos how large do you make each recording ? From what I saw I thought you recorded continously in one large file. Unfortunately this is not working for me. When I record continously for about 500 Megs it doesn’t playback. I also have a question about Audacity, I want to record my voice commentary over my video but I have to alt+tab to press record in Audacity. Is there a record key in Audacity ? I’m making the audio seperate and then will clip it on the video. Many thanks for your help. I appreciate it.
Posted on April 29th, 2007 at 5:31 pm
Well I’m not sure what you ask…
So here is what I do and what setup i use.
I use fraps and record half-size, 25fps.
I record as long as I need to record, and fraps will cut the video are they get too big. Basically, 8:28 min of recording of soldier heroes of world war II make a video of 3.90 GB. And the video work fine in windows media player. As for windows movie maker, I don’t know.
As for audacity, you can put keyboard shortcut in the preference of it. But i would not be sure if that would work when you are in game. Also make sure to select the microphone as a source.
note that there is also a way to record with fraps, simply go in you sound preference and unmute the microphone, since fraps record the sound it will record your voice also. So if you microphone have a switch on, off you could choose when to record or not… anyway explore those option :)
Posted on April 29th, 2007 at 6:44 pm
Hi Attila, that’s exactly what i meant. Thanks a lot for your help. Appreciate it ! :D
Posted on April 30th, 2007 at 6:01 pm

Posted on May 12th, 2007 at 7:09 pm
Hello attila I just wanted to ask how do you get your videos on youtube over 10 minutes? Somone else asked that question and you said somnething about less massacre but I still dont get how? Please tell me =)
Posted on May 19th, 2007 at 12:49 am
and also your videos u make for Rome Total War what resolution do you record them at?
Posted on May 19th, 2007 at 12:50 am
oh and 1 more thing I have Radeon X1650 series, is my graphics card better than yours or yours is better becuz when i play Rome Total war I still lag like hek
Posted on May 19th, 2007 at 1:15 am
hmm I said something about less massacre? Weird…
Anyway… that’s a privilege that youtube gave me a long time ago and it’s no longer available.
I record in 1024×768, in half size mode.
Ati x1650 is better then x1600, if you lag the problem might be you processor, ram, or driver. make sure you have latests driver.
Posted on May 19th, 2007 at 8:05 am
how many minutes does it take you to make a video and save it at Windows movie maker?
Posted on May 19th, 2007 at 12:23 pm
well globaly, it can take from 30 min to 1 hours.
Posted on May 19th, 2007 at 12:43 pm
Hey Atilla, nice guide. One question about Fraps though (this is on the free version mind you), I want to change the hardware that frpas is recording sound from, but when I click on the sound hardware thingy, nothing happens, and I cant find another button to change it. HELP!
Thanks in advance!
Posted on May 20th, 2007 at 6:03 pm
well think only way to change the source in fraps is “detect best sound input”
or “use Windows input”. other then that not much choice on this aspect…
Posted on May 20th, 2007 at 6:06 pm
but would that change the hardware or program its recording from? Or just the input…
Posted on May 20th, 2007 at 10:41 pm
i don’t know. but if you go in your audio controle (of windows), in option propreties, you can choose the mixer device. maybe try that.
Posted on May 21st, 2007 at 7:55 am
First of all, I apoligize for throwing all these questions at you. I just cant find anything else on the matter.
Second, I looked at that, and my speakers dont appear as an audio device, only my two microphones, and a rear mic that I’ve never heard of.
When I hit the playback tab, then my speaker show up, but I cant set them for fraps. How would I do that from there? Or can I do it at all?
Thanks
Posted on May 21st, 2007 at 11:04 am
well speaker are not an audio device. a sound card is an audio device that manage all the sound from your computer, that should be the source you use for fraps…
Posted on May 21st, 2007 at 12:18 pm
So… how do I set that?
Posted on May 21st, 2007 at 2:18 pm
well in theories fraps should have your audio card set as a sound device… unless you have an external sound card, no clue how that work in that situation.
Posted on May 21st, 2007 at 2:25 pm
salut attila jai fraps 2003 (pirater je pense ) pis quand je met fraps sur mtw 2 sa lagg comme le criss so ese que ya un moyen pour po que sa lagg ??? need help !

Hey attila i wanted to record a gameplay I use gamecam and audiocity and everytime I record it and put em all together the sound doesn’t go with it. I mean the video comes first before the sound.I dont know how else to fix this. Or is there any other device that records a gameplay that doesn’t make your PC lag.
Posted on May 25th, 2007 at 1:54 pm
well the best thing is to buy fraps… it’s not that expensive and does a good job when you record “half size”
Posted on May 25th, 2007 at 3:05 pm
What do u use to record your gameplay?
Posted on May 25th, 2007 at 3:25 pm
fraps :)
Posted on May 25th, 2007 at 3:32 pm
but doesn’t fraps lag when u record?
Posted on May 25th, 2007 at 3:40 pm
Well it depend your computer. But it will alway lag since it requier cpu to record.
Posted on May 25th, 2007 at 4:57 pm

also, what FPS do you record at?
Posted on June 30th, 2007 at 7:13 am
i record at 25 fps
Posted on June 30th, 2007 at 7:36 am
There’s also D3D Gear. you can use that to record, 15 day trial but still with watermarks just like FRAP’S 30 second trial.
Posted on June 30th, 2007 at 4:34 pm

Posted on July 20th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
Attila if you use fraps when you recording how can you make it stand dateyourgame.com or By Attila i really wanna know cause i only got a trial of fraps and all he other cameras with sound like Camstudio and HyperCam always does so i lag. Your videos has no lag and good picture plz mess me what camera you use. Thanks for your attention :D
Posted on July 27th, 2007 at 3:12 pm
I use fraps, about the dateyourgame tag it’s from video editing.
About the lag, it’s either a question of having a better computer, or you fraps recording option, read the comments they should answer most questions
Posted on July 27th, 2007 at 3:42 pm
Attila I was wondering if you knew about any programs you can install on an Xbox 360 that will record games on my Xbox. Thanks
Posted on August 9th, 2007 at 1:15 am
i don’t think there is any, you need to search for hardware stuff but i have little knowledge on the subject and don’t feel comfortable advising anything on the subject
Posted on August 9th, 2007 at 10:59 am
Hey, there’s another good gameplay recorder called FastCapPro. It’s worked good for me and there’s a free 10 day trial.

Posted on August 12th, 2007 at 7:15 pm
ok i’m tired… so i didn’t read all the questions on top which might have answered this but if i saved a replay in Rome:TW, would i then have to go in and record again with one of those programs? cause… damit ;/
i had another question but i forgot it after reading the other comments…
Posted on August 18th, 2007 at 12:39 pm
the answers is yep
Posted on August 18th, 2007 at 10:52 pm
no.. nooo… god noooo!!! well i tried but it won’t open ;/
is it possible to transfer the replay file to another computer to record there?
Posted on August 20th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
hmm what?
Posted on August 20th, 2007 at 12:31 pm
i saved a replay in the game (you know, in the game’s main menu *click load saved game, then *click load saved replays)
but i was wondering if i could copy that file to another computer to work on it there because my laptop doesn’t have the power to. cause i found the folder for saved replays but i wasn’t sure if it would work, and was hoping you might know before i go to his house.
Posted on August 21st, 2007 at 10:07 pm
I used game cam the problem is you can’t recored sound but i found a way to record it you use sound recorder (found in your start menu under accessories in entertainment) and thats it
Posted on August 22nd, 2007 at 3:51 am
it should
Posted on August 22nd, 2007 at 9:30 am
There is also the Geelix. Kinda hard to use. and gdzsoft. 1minute in the demo and like fraps
Posted on August 26th, 2007 at 5:16 pm
I also use fraps. I got the demo of game came, which I also liked, but why blow any more money when I already have fraps?
So you would say that’s the best video recorder? I’m not so sure. It totall slows down game play (for me at least) and yet it’s quck and reliable..
can’t wait for more total war vids! You excited about Empire?
Posted on August 28th, 2007 at 8:47 pm
well there is alternative to software but it can cost up to 3000$…
Posted on August 28th, 2007 at 10:02 pm
That’s slightly out of my price range…
Posted on August 29th, 2007 at 11:29 am
hey man I bought fraps a long time ago its workin pretty well but when I record a half life 2 video it lags like hek I mean like HECK it wasnt like this before I’ve recorded over 10 videos now, but the part 11 I cant make becuz when I record it lags like fak. Any advice on how to fix this. btw also it only lags when I record and play half life 2 when I record other games they dont lag at all.
Posted on August 31st, 2007 at 12:16 am
hmm well as for fraps itself the only thing you can do is to record, 25 fps, at half size to get a “stable” frame rate.
As for half life 2 maybe turn down your graphical option and make sure your resolution isn’t too big, because the bigger the resolution the more data fraps must compile and the more lag it will create. Half-life 2 is a very well optimized game so you probably have graphic very high in a playable way, but since fraps require a lot of juice from your computer it probably does a bad mix. So sacrifice a little the visual or something :)
Posted on August 31st, 2007 at 11:34 am
Wah! I tried doing it (my original file was a .wmv file) but there was no audio! I did the first output thing as .mpg (I) and the audio output on mp3 yet I still got no sound…WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Posted on September 10th, 2007 at 6:39 pm
hmm at what part of the process…?
Posted on September 11th, 2007 at 8:46 am
Im very confused… at the part where you desize the video….
I have it saved to my computer then what?
Posted on December 1st, 2007 at 8:17 pm
well youtube don’t allow more then 10 min (unless you are a director for sometime now).
As for the size, use Super, Xvid codex should help, make the resolution 320×240, bitrate to 1411, reduce the audio quality maybe. Make it 25, 15, 10 or 6 frame per second. (fps)
Other then that can’t help much
I dont understand anything in that paragraph lol sorry

Posted on December 6th, 2007 at 4:16 pm
I need help installing mods and patches …. no one ever helps and when they try to they say the same basic thing…
Also I got RTW Gold edition and its version 1.3 I thought gold edition was 1.5??
Posted on December 21st, 2007 at 2:31 am
hehe one more thing to add…. after doing some research on your amazing website/blog
I found the answer to an earlier question of mine…
If you did indeed use movie editor for Rome Total War and you do:)
The link that I found it out seems very confuzing but your descrpition is so simple…. will it be the same?
Anyway I am making recorded gameplay videos now ….and soon after Christmas I’ll have new games to make more videos out of yay….
Happy Holidays
P.S. I am making a website that I intended to make a while back but never got to it:)
Posted on December 21st, 2007 at 2:39 am
well the gold edition isn’t mod friendly from what i hear. but some mods have a specific version to work with that version of the game. And most mods have an .exe to install themself…
Posted on December 21st, 2007 at 11:39 am

Sony Vegas 7 is a good editor, although it costs too much.. Lol anyway thanks for the guide.
Posted on February 17th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
Well if you have realtek hd audio go to windows volumen control, then in Options -> Properties, choose “realtek audio input” select the “Recording” radio button. and check to see if Stereo Mix is selected.

Posted on February 25th, 2008 at 4:55 pm
maybe try xfire, (i modified the guide this morning to include new informations)
Posted on February 26th, 2008 at 9:37 am
Hey ive been wanting to make a guide for rtr 6.0.
I tried gamce cam but it only records 30 seconds with out sound due to not registering.
I tried hyper cam and it all went black also cam studio went black.
And i dont want to use fraps for it as i dont have a credit card =\
Ive been trying X fire but wen i press scroll lock + V it wont record would you be able to shed a little light for me attila?
Sorry if this was just annoying ={
Posted on March 11th, 2008 at 8:44 am
hehe, yeah seem a bad situation.
Well maybe try something with xfire. i would maybe recommend changing the two button require to start recording since scroll lock and v, may not be too good, also make sure you click on both button at the same time.
if that doesn’t work tell me :)
Posted on March 11th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
Ok x fire worked but i lagged like hell it was hard enough trying to click on my units lol got any other ideas?
Posted on March 13th, 2008 at 12:36 am
well it’s normal that it lag, recording requier a lot of juice from your computer, what you can do is to record half size at 30 fps in your options, but not that in all case… it will slow down the game. (welcome to my world) ;)
Posted on March 13th, 2008 at 7:08 am
ok man ill see how it work out if no good well then i cant make vids =\
Posted on March 13th, 2008 at 9:13 am
not looking too good….well you tried man thats all that i asked i guess ill need to wait a yr for a credit card =\
Posted on March 13th, 2008 at 9:58 am
yeah, recording video isn’t the most easy thing, and require good hardware… Well i hope to so your videos in a year i guess ;)
Posted on March 13th, 2008 at 10:03 am
hey attila u have ver. 1.5 of cod4? u should get it aksi dude in rome total war i whooped some macadonian butt with the technique u use at the gate when ur defending (the one u use with the germans) also i was outnumbered 1300-3500 :p and there were 3 rams but still i won it was crazy so ya… whats up!
Posted on March 16th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Hello Attilla, i’ve got a question, like everybody else :P See, i just tried to use the Xfire video recorder, and i realized my game lagged incredibly with it, at least for the one i tried (Flyff), the thing is, that before i used GameCam, and in a game that requires much more work from the computer, Entropia Universe, the thing is, that i don’t know right now, if by using Audacity along with GameCam, it would lag, because GameCam worked rather nicely on the gaming, but the video was very laggy… I’m beginning to wonder if it is my computer, and i think it is, i can’t do anything about it though, since it isn’t mine…
Any help would do :D… And i had another question, if i had to actually put something on the blog, as in, gameplay videos on the blog or anything of the like to be able of joining the DYG clan?
Thanks in advance. :)
Posted on March 29th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
well make sure you record half-size with either 30 fps or 25. but note that up to a certain point a lag is normal.
other then that… well get a better 3d card. or new computer.
Posted on March 29th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
Well, it worked, thanks a lot man. :D
Posted on March 30th, 2008 at 12:08 am
happy it worked :)
Posted on March 31st, 2008 at 9:36 pm

Posted on April 1st, 2008 at 8:59 pm
btw, I tried pressing the hotkey but nothing happened…
Posted on April 1st, 2008 at 9:02 pm
yo nice guide i wanted to put this up forever
Posted on April 2nd, 2008 at 8:55 pm
happy you like it :)
Posted on April 3rd, 2008 at 12:01 pm
For Fraps when you pay money to by fraps do you need to pay again to download or just login into the member’s area and download the version with the acount you created during the purchase?
Posted on April 24th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
you pay and then have access to the client that you will download that has your name on it.
It’s a lifelong license so your pay once for the rest of your life. (in theorie)
Posted on April 24th, 2008 at 7:29 pm
Well, problem is that I don’t have one of the biggest harddrivers on the market. So I can’t waste 200MB on just 25 secs’ of video – As in Fraps.
What shuld I do to have the size of the video as small as possble?
Posted on May 26th, 2008 at 6:48 am
well, video editing take space. so… no space, no video editing… You need at least 20 gig available if you want to do anything of quality
Posted on May 26th, 2008 at 11:54 am

Posted on July 25th, 2008 at 6:26 pm
hey, i downloaded xfire but whenever i play a game it’s incredibly laggy and doesn’t do a good job of getting rid of that lag. any tips on how to get rid of it?
Posted on July 26th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
well recording = lag.
fraps is a little better, but you will still lag.
the only way not to lag is to have a 3000$ or more computer.
or
not to record.
Posted on July 27th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
taksi probably the best free recorder
there are no limitations at all
its videos have about the same framerates as fraps (using the lagarith lossless codec for compression)
the only problem is that it can’t record audio (but it is open source… so if you can edit the source code yourself, maybe it will be able to record sound)
Posted on August 20th, 2008 at 1:08 pm
how i can record videos with the game cam mmmmmm the game is rome total war?
Posted on August 24th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
I just want to say thank you. I’ve always wondered how this was done and now I know. You set up the tutorial perfect and now it’s just some time before I make some video’s for my community of friends (ReBorn Mafia) so that they will learn Rainbow Six a little easier! Thanks again and yes your video’s on YouTube are fantastic!
Posted on September 4th, 2008 at 8:46 pm

hey attila, what should i select in virtual dub to lower the resolution to my videos?
Posted on November 29th, 2008 at 9:21 am
One more question. When using Xvid for video compression I have to choose between 1 (maximum quality) and 31 (smallest file), what value should I use if I want my videos to look like your videos on Youtube?
Thanks!
Posted on November 29th, 2008 at 10:11 am

What adapter do i need to use to connect my Xbox to the computer?
Posted on January 2nd, 2009 at 12:37 pm
I have used the Pinnacle I bought at Best Buy for my gameplay videos, for PS3. I am sure you could buy the red white and yellow adapter for your XBOX and use the Pinnacle program to record your gameplay. You will probably find the adapter at your local game shop. I also created a website you can share your game play videos. You can link to videos from Google, Youtube, Break and Spike.

Surya,
Firstly, you will need the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable
Secondly, you need an adapter something like this:

Hope it helped out :)

I use fraps to record some gameplay

makes the video not worth watching
please help
I had the same problem before but I somehow fixed it, dunno how now
I have Realtek HD audio driver thingy, could it be the problem?
Posted on January 28th, 2009 at 11:08 am
hmmm… weird tone noises?
go in your master volume reduce the wave and mute everything other then master volume and wave. try and check if it fix it.
Posted on January 28th, 2009 at 11:51 am
hey attila im sorry if this was answered in the video recording device vid but i dont have sound so i wouldnt know. Anyways, are there any recording devices that i could use to record stuff from my 360 like a device thats cheap but still good?
Posted on March 1st, 2009 at 9:48 pm
Hey attila, me and my friend have started left 4 dead walkthroughs (the camera broke so it has to be fixed before we can continue) and the sound on the camera is extremely soft when we record. Its like a regular digital camera that records over 20 mins of video per vid i think. Is there any way that we can make the sound louder? We give advice and tips so we want to have in-game sound and out-of-game sound.
Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 9:36 am
sorry, but don’t all these programs record from a computer screen? i want to record from my PS2!
i think i might be in a little over my head here, im only 15…

I tried to record Half-Life 2 ameplay with fraps, but it did not work….Why might this happen ? Even the screenshots that I took with Fraps resulted in completely black images…Plz Help
Posted on June 27th, 2009 at 11:21 am
Srry i meant gameplay and not “ameplay”
Posted on June 27th, 2009 at 11:22 am
hmm strange, not sure what can be the cause, can be directx, can be fraps, can be outdated graphic driver, can be the graphic card, etc.
Posted on June 27th, 2009 at 11:44 am
Hi,
I know you keep this a secret because ive asked u on youtube once or twice but how do you upload videos longer than 10 mins without beeing a partner. realy wanna know because i wanna start my own chronicles. please tell me.
my email is backspace289@hotmail.co.uk
Posted on July 22nd, 2009 at 8:27 pm
i was an early director who have unlimited time, they no longer give 10 min because of past abuse, so being a partner is the only way now.
Posted on July 23rd, 2009 at 12:35 am
ok i was hopeing to do a chronical soon but ill have to get partnership first.
if you can spare the time go to my youtbe channel, GamersDen22, and check out my videos, from my last partenship application it sounded like i need some more viewers.
Posted on July 23rd, 2009 at 5:08 am
to be a partner you probably need over 500 000 views
Posted on July 23rd, 2009 at 9:36 am
After all these years, how has your recording methods (softwares) change?
Camstudio is able to record without taking huge space unlike Fraps, why doesnt fraps just do the codec thingy the way camstudio does?
Posted on July 26th, 2009 at 4:43 pm
Hello Attila,
I realy need your help on my videos. I am trying to get tem to fit the full youtube video box but it wont let me. Ive am exporting the file from MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus at a frame size of 1280 x 720 and when the videos uploaded to youtbe and finished procesing it still isnt the full box only half of it.
Posted on August 1st, 2009 at 6:39 pm

Posted on August 19th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
How about HD settings instead of standard…
Posted on November 7th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
Hi Attila, I have a question.
When i record something with fraps with my mic plugged in, the only sound it records is my voice or any sound that gets into the mic, but when i unplug it, fraps records the sound of the game im playing.
What how can i record my voice while playing a game, without muting the sound of it?.
Thanks.
Posted on November 15th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
make sure to install the latess version of fraps the 3.0.1, It probably will fix your problem
Posted on November 15th, 2009 at 1:16 pm
Thanks man!. I owe you one.
Posted on November 15th, 2009 at 1:33 pm
I have another question (sorry for being annoying).
When i watch a video i recorded with fraps, the sound comes only from the right speaker or w/e it’s called of my headphones.
Do you know what might be causing trouble?.
My sound codec is IDT Audio.
Thanks again.
Posted on November 15th, 2009 at 2:08 pm
hmm, i don’t know, strange problem.
Posted on November 16th, 2009 at 11:25 am
long time gamer here, i have a few vids i made using xfire, and i have no clue about making vids for utube(which is what i plan to do) what should i do next? they’re in a .avi format, should i upload them to youtube or do something else with them?
Posted on November 25th, 2009 at 5:12 pm
you can upload them on youtube, but it can be a good idea to edit them with windows movie maker. or recompile them in a smaller size with xvid format with virtual dub
Posted on November 26th, 2009 at 8:10 pm
thanks for the feedback attila, got 1 uploaded so far =D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAP73W1LVxA
however if u watch the vid u’ll see its very bad quality and far a while the sound goes out of sync, any idea’s?(I know after a while the quality might improve but the sound will still be out of sync)
Posted on November 27th, 2009 at 10:33 pm
bah! think the quality problem was on my end i’ve fixed it i think however the problem of the audio still remains, the audios like straight from the xfire folder so im guessing its a xfire problem, maybe the video and audio record at ever so slightly different speeds so it takes a few minutes for them to go out of sync? (btw this happens on all my recorded vids)
but then again im not an expert at this kind of thing, any ideas?
ps sorry for the double post =/
Posted on November 27th, 2009 at 10:41 pm
I don’t really know how you can fix this issu.
Posted on November 30th, 2009 at 6:59 pm

Posted on January 5th, 2010 at 1:22 pm

Posted on March 4th, 2010 at 9:24 pm
I don’t get the program xfire at all. all it records is the sound around the computer and nothing else what am I doing wrong?

Hi @Attila,
I would recommend you to use “Sony Vegas Studio Pro 2010″ to renderize your videos into the best HD ever seen in the world!
Posted on January 22nd, 2011 at 5:56 pm
Well that’s what many people use.

I use Fraps at “full-size” which for me is 1920 x 1080. I’ve downloaded Super and I’m playing around with it. Which container and codecs would you recommend I use to put HD (1080p) vids on youtube?
