FEAR is a really good single player game and also a great multiplayer game that not that deserve to be try. What is even cooler is that the developers were really open with the modding community and even released the source code of the game, allowing people to create game from scratch. They Also Made FEAR combat available to every one for free, allowing you or anyone else to enjoy the multiplayer of this game for free. But even if all of this is all free, the single player still need to be bought, and it actually worth buying it.

On this page I will post overtime a Walkthrough of the single player game, to show some tips and trick to those interested.

The Walkthrough start on the second level of the game since the first level just contains story and no action at all.

FEAR First Encounter Assault Recon Walkthrough Part 1

This first video show the second missions, since the first one doesn’t have any action, well it wasn’t worth showing. As you can see in the video I use a lot the slow “matrix” effect. This allows me to have a great aim and neutralize the enemies really fast without really being in trouble. Because if I didn’t by the way I play in this video, I would not last long, I don’t use much cover, I charge in the middle, etc. If you play at normal speed, you would not survive that long…

FEAR First Encounter Assault Recon Walkthrough Part 2

This is the third level of the game, that where it start to be really interesting, the enemies are still weak, but the gain in number, you also start to be able to use the shotgun, it’s a very effectives short range weapon. It’s not a gun that is fun so much for its effectiveness, but it really does make the game far more interesting visually since it damages a lot the environment making the FEAR particle effect look great.

For this level some part are missing, seem the video of that part corrupted itself for some reason…
This level is not really impressive but as you can see there is some good moment, I like the way they use the helicopters, make you really feel like a special ops. What make this level hard is mostly those powers suit that have a lot of armour. Fortunately they don’t aim that good.

FEAR First Encounter Assault Recon Walkthrough Part 4

This is where the game really gets interesting. At that point in FEAR you actually fight in close combat area of a tall building for many turn. The level design is great and logical without being linear.

That part of the game is really great. Especially the second part of this video. You can see how well designed are the level with some well placed explosive barrel with very cool explosive and great particle effect. This is really FEAR at best.

FEAR First Encounter Assault Recon Walkthrough Part 6

This level is probably is less interesting of the game… The security guard are really cool enemies, but the environment of this level isn’t really fun to fight in, There is also the fire thing puzzle that is a little boring to do. That’s the kind of level that could be skip… or should serve the story line.
