Hey, How much did your rig cost? I have a Dell Dimension E510, and all I can say is that the proccessor and the graphics card need a major overhaul. Anything you would suggest proccessor/graphics card wise?

nick check How To RECORD Gameplay
Ezel well something arround my config should cost arround 800$ or 900$ max. so you can get a good computer for a fair price.

Hey attila, need ur help, i just have bought a new graphics card Nvidia 8600 GT + 2GB DRR2 OCZ platinum 2. memory, i think these are enough to play, i have a pentium 4 processor 2,ghz (Don’t have money to buy one) so i don’t know what more i need to play, a good motherboard?, can you recomend a cheap card that will work for this?.
Posted on October 26th, 2007 at 5:42 am
well your processor is probably the slow part but if the motherboard isn’t good enough to support well a better processor.
The thing is that everything is interlinked in a computer. If one part is slower then the others well… all the rest is slowed by it.
check the hardware guide to learn more

the hd3870 or Geforce 8800gt ;(
Posted on January 4th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
well 8800 is better and more expensive, the hd 3870 a little less powerfull but is cheaper so it give you more for the price you pay.
Posted on January 4th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
May seem off topic but do you plan on continuing any chronicles in MTW 2 Kingdoms. (This questions for the original MTW2) What country would you think relies the most on heavy infrantry and heavy calvary[(preferably a small country for increased diffuculty:) ]
For the graphics settings I did tests on which things would work best and not wiegh down my FPS like a whale. Is there anyway to increase that FPS rate?
Sorry for so many questions :(
Posted on January 5th, 2008 at 12:03 am
Making an other chronicles is a possibility but can’t promise anything on the subject.
france, england and HRE are those that relie the most on heavy cavalry
as for fps, either lower your graphic, or buy a new card
Posted on January 5th, 2008 at 11:22 am

isnt a xeon a server-cpu???
Posted on March 18th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
well Xeon are cpu that are mostly use in servers, but my computer “isn’t” a server, but has all the hardware to become one. It’s kinda the top end of destkop but just under the server category. It’s design for activities that require a lot of CPU, like 3D modeling and Video editing. That’s why it fit my needs and like a server can be very easily updated with more Hardrive, ram, two CPU, etc.
Posted on March 19th, 2008 at 11:03 am
hey atilla im plannin to get an upgrade of ATI Radeon X1950PRO graphics card and im gonna up grade my comp to 1.5gb ram

I’m not really sure I’ve my computer’s capability as of now either. I have been playing Rome Total War a lot lately, and it lags… Lags bad. The campaign screen especially. It is very annoying, and very aggravating. The only way I can get the normal response is to head my screen to the Atlantic. I was wondering if there was a way to where you could help me up the performance of my computer. I’m only 16, so money is a problem. I’m sorry this all seems… Childish? But I would really, really appreciate it if you could help me.

Hi,
I’m thinking of buying a new pc, and I saw one with this configuration:
Core 2 Quad 6600 2.40 GHz
3Gb DDR II
500 Gb 7200rpm SATA
ATI HD2400PRO
Intel HighDefinition 7.1
What do you think? Is it good for gaming?
Thanks
Posted on March 31st, 2008 at 5:50 pm
it would be average for gaming, if i were you i would get a ATI 3850, or ATi 3780, check the hardware guide for more info, or ask on the forum
Posted on March 31st, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Thanks for the advice. How about an ATI 3870 x2?
Posted on April 1st, 2008 at 1:30 pm
if you have the money go for it :)
Posted on April 1st, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Kool Specs. Which Motherboard do you have? Does it support SLI? If it does, then two SLI Nvidia Geforce 9600GT 512MB is way better. One 9600GT is around a $150 US. The reviews say that a geforce 9600GT is better than a RADEON HD 3870. 9600GT is cheap and can play ALL the games out nowadays on at least high. So, I suggest you change to NVIDIA cards now, coz RADEON is goin down. :D
9600GT is such a big success, very cheap and very powerful. it is comparable to the 8800GT 512MB. So SLI two 9600GT and you’re ready for at least 2 years of MAX graphics on every game out.

Hey I don’t understand. About your power supply you only have 230 watts if I’m correct?
I thought you needed at least 300 or 350 watts for that card.
Posted on April 7th, 2008 at 9:59 pm
Well since the comment you refer is base on my old hardware, good question.
I currently have a 800 watts powersupply
Posted on April 8th, 2008 at 7:59 am
Hey Atilla, I’m currently looking to buy a cheap gaming pc and I found this on tigerdirect.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3443619&sku=C477-1002
So I’m wondering what you think of this and I’ve heard good and bad reviews about Cyberpower which is the manufacturer of this pc.
If this pc is not good, then could you recommend another cheap pc?
My budget is under :$800
Posted on April 9th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
well you should be ok for maybe 2 years, but i can hardly judge… there is alway a lot of factor to think about.
Posted on April 9th, 2008 at 8:02 pm

may work but not too well, try the demo first, but expect lag
Posted on April 16th, 2008 at 8:50 am
But can it run the game in low or medium graphics???
Posted on April 16th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
i’ve seen your videos of arma and medieval and i like the way you play, i am also subscribe to your account in YouTube and i love your videos…
i’m sorry to bother you but i have one more question, can i play arma in my computer???
Posted on April 16th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
well it may be able to run it on low or medium… but it’ really hard to judge without trying them, I highly recommend trying the demos first to make sure and give you an idea how enjoyable the game can be on your setup. :)
As For arma i also recommend trying the demo, it’s a very demanding game since you are fighting on a 240 km2 island that is at all time loaded.
So check out the demos and find out by yourself. And if it’s playable feel free to join some games with the DYG members :)
Posted on April 16th, 2008 at 6:38 pm

Posted on April 19th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
where can I get a IBM computer or all the stuff that it has plus video card, sound card etc.
Posted on May 1st, 2008 at 2:26 am
well IBM are not the kind of computer you find in most store anymore, they are more workstation then desktop. So to find affordable one, i go on Ebay, same thing for the component i may need to adapt the computer for gaming.
Posted on May 1st, 2008 at 7:18 am
was urs made for gaming or was it like used for something else (attila)
Posted on May 1st, 2008 at 6:09 pm

Hey Attila,
How well could i play Med 2. with:
Geforce 7600gs
1gb ram
2.4 pentium 4
Posted on May 12th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
you should be ok
Posted on May 13th, 2008 at 8:55 am
i saw your computer specs.
and i just wanted to ask something.
your computer with those specs can run big games like -COD4- -Crysis-
-RS2V- and -SOLARSINSOFEMPIRE- games all on high settings ???
orwill it have trouble ?
Thanks…
Posted on June 1st, 2008 at 9:17 pm
it run all those game on high with fps between 30 and 91 depending the game and the context.
(i cannot run crysis on very high since i do not have vista at the moment, but my card support directx 10.1. So it probably would run on very high at an acceptable fps.
Posted on June 1st, 2008 at 10:59 pm
one last question =)
how much did you spend on all your computer hardware .
lets say how much does your computer cost with all you have ( hardware and graphics card )custom. . . .?
Posted on June 2nd, 2008 at 6:53 pm
hard to say, the price i have paid it isn’t the price it worth now.
Posted on June 2nd, 2008 at 7:52 pm
So what settings do you play on Crysis, I know you said High but I mean Anti-Aliasing. Do you have it on? I have a nvidia 9800 GX2 with 4 gigs of ram, quad core 2.4ghz. It runs really nice until you get into the AA. Its playable up to 4x aa.
So do you even have it turned on because I don’t think you could get 40 fps with aa turned on :)
Posted on June 3rd, 2008 at 10:42 pm
i have AA x2
Posted on June 4th, 2008 at 7:30 am
Thanks.
Its kind of ridiculous that nvidia would release a card that can’t handle a game. They even released it months after the game was out!
Even with 4x AA it lags a bit but I think I can handle it.
:P
Posted on June 4th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
well crytek designed crysis with future hardware in mind. I guess that’s a debatable strategy, but the game does look good.
Posted on June 5th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
Yo Attila!!! WHOAH!!! You said that you’re PC can play Assassin’s Creed on 200fps with everything on FULL!??? And your PC is like priced about $1000!!??? OMG!!! I think I’ll get the same. :)
ATI Radeon HD 3870… That’s not a very good card coz even the NVIDIA 9600GT has better benchmarks in most games, and I think it’s a bit cheaper. You should think about getting 2 9600GT and SLi them and overclock them both. That would be awesome.
Radeon is not really as good as NVIDIA nowadays. HOWEVER! The New ATI HD4870 is coming out this MONTH!!! It’s the first with GDDR5 memory!!! OMG!!! And 800 STEAM PROCESSORS!!! ALSO 512-bit bus!!! WOOOWWW!!! And it isn’t TOO expensive, around $350! NICE!!!! You should get it when it comes out dude! People say you could play Crysis on Max settings. :D
Get that or NVIDIA 9900GTX which is better but $500, coming out next month….
Posted on June 14th, 2008 at 7:13 am
ooh..
Kind of ridiculous that they released the nvidia GTX 280 and obsoleted the whole 9 series only 2-3 months after it came out.
Ridiculous.
but I’ve got a job now and probably in a year I’ll get a new card.
Posted on June 17th, 2008 at 10:58 pm
Hey man do you plan on buying the ATI 4870?
Posted on July 3rd, 2008 at 5:20 pm

I have a ALC883 High Definition Audio 6-channel CODEC for a sound card. I checked out yours and turns out you can download it. Is my sound card compatible with SoundMAX HD Audio?
Posted on July 23rd, 2008 at 6:51 pm
audio stuff is alway a mess to find proper driver and stuff, so best thing is to keep the driver you already have, before messing up your sound
Posted on July 23rd, 2008 at 8:02 pm
Do you think rainbow six vegas and other games will work on the sound card i have right now? ALC883 High Definition Audio 6-channel CODEC
Posted on July 24th, 2008 at 12:17 am
it should, sound is really not an important thing when it comes to game compatibility

i have intel core 2 duo but need to know wich is better: intel core 2 duo or intel quad? thx
Posted on October 18th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
quad is better, but 99% of games only use dual at the moment. Only crysis use quad core for frame per second stabilization.

Ok so I posted this on your fallout 3 video but you said you don’t answer questions on youtube so I’ll ask here:
Ok, was wondering what settings are you running this on (fallout 3)? With my gaming rig I can’t put it high without bad performance. On high I always get stuttering even with 60fps and I can’t go ultra without it becoming unplayable. So are you experiencing any problems with this and what settings are you on?
Posted on November 4th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
hey men
I like to watch your videos. How you play the mount & Blade? I downloaded it from the internet but its not the same.Did you buy it? hello from the beautiful Greece

lol I spelled my name wrong in the above post, oh well.
Posted on November 5th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Hey, Attila, I love all your youtube videos and blog posts. Very informative on current games! X3 Terran Conflict looks good, but what kind of game is it?
And, oh, getting back on topic, your computer seems to be built differently than what your needs require. Gaming is very GPU limited, as you can still get fantastic framerates with a budget CPU (E7200, E8200, Wolfdale lineup) coupled with a good high-end card (HD4850, 9800GTX+, or HD4870/GTX 260 Core 216 and above). However, your computer seems reversed in this aspect. While your CPU is fairly strong at running today’s games, your aging 3870 (which, by the way, is worse than an 8800GT or a 9800GS) is pretty weak. I suggest, for your next upgrade, put 2/3 of the budget on the videocard, and 1/3 on the CPU.
And, DO NOT get the new Core i7 processors. They do not give much of an increase in framerates in games, as gaming is still a GPU limited situation (it used to be bounded by the CPU in the P4/Sempron age, when the CPU was extremely weak compared to the GPU. But with the release of the Athlon X2/C2D lineup, that reversed). Plus, the only motherboard type compatable with the new LGA1366 Core i7 architecture is the X58 motherboard, where the cheapest are around $300. Also, triple-channel DDR3 modules are *required*, so this is not a wise investment. Wait until prices drop, and then make your move. The Penryn/Conroe/Xeon processors are more than enough for now.
Oh, and there is a rumor that the new LGA1366 architecture that Nehalem(aka Core i7) runs on will be replaced by a LGA1160 in Q3 of 2009. Now this may be fictional, but it is best to sit tight and wait. Either a new chipset will be confirmed, or prices will drop. A win-win. :)
Oh and a link, if some are doubting:

I have a friend that has a Dell Dimension E510 with 4 slots who is looking to upgrade or should say max out their RAM, only problem is I can’t find exact amount of what computer can be maxed out with. There is some conflicting information as Dell’s website says it can be maxed out at 4GB RAM but at crucial.com when you do their scan it says it can hold up to 8GB and recognizes that it as a Dell Dimension 5150. So who am I to believe the manufacturer or a third party in which doesn’t even recognize the correct desktop. Is the 5150 and the E510 the same?
Thanks,
Josh

hi attila im now with geforce 9800 gt intel celeron 3.46 Ghz single core processor and with 2 Gb of RAM and i run crysis on high because i dont have DX10 and my processor is slowing a bit the things on crysis but thats ok-im buying soon intel pentuim d 3.30 Ghz dual processor or intel core 2 duo 2.33 Ghz(should this fix my problem for crysis?)
Posted on November 27th, 2008 at 8:20 am
dual processor will increase your performance, as for DX10, you would need vista.
So yeah it should work better.

assassins
if you mean a Nvidia 9500GT, hmm not sure vs 3870, but the 4870 is much better then the 9500GT
ganners09
It’s not something to download, it’s something you graphic card support or not.
So click on the newegg, and search for a card 3870 or 4870. Make sure to read my hardware guide where i explain the 1.1 pixel shader thing.

hey attila, great videos. but hey will these specs work once so ever with empire total war?
AMD Sempron(tm)
3000+1.99GHz
512 MB of RAM. Thats all i know.
My graphics card allows me to play on medium quality on medieval 2 total war.
I also downloaded the demo from STEAM. it started up and just started going crazy. the screen kept flashing white. Is this a sign that the full game will not work on my computer?
Please reply!!!

Corbin14:
The dem for ETW is CRAP – and old so don;t worry about it – try to get more RAM and a better processor and you MIGHT run ETW. At the moment, you could probably run it on lowest everything
Hey Attila (the Hun),
I want to get Empire total war – is this enough to run it on med – high settings with no lag?
Video card: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 series
Processor: Intel Pentium D CPU 3 GHz
Memory: about 3 gigs of RAM
Hard-drive: 256MB
I can run Med2 TW on all high with no shadows or high grass settigns with no probs – can it do Empire though?
Plz reply!
Posted on February 27th, 2009 at 9:28 pm
i highly recommend trying the ETW demo on steam and judge by yourself. Anything else would be pure speculation
Posted on February 27th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
Thanks – but I can’t run the demo. When the loading bar gets to halfway in any battle it stops ands goes back and forward REALLY fast, and I can’t play it. This is not because of my lack of being able to play the game cos it’s just happening to lots of ppl, even those with comps as good as yours.
so, if I can run Med2TW on highest everything, then what chances i can run ETW on at least decent graphics with a good framerate?
Posted on February 28th, 2009 at 12:17 am
maybe, but i really can’t judge, i don’t have the game. But if the demo acted like that on your computer… the same may happen with the full.
at this point I can’t give any good advice. ask again after you see my first video of this game.
Posted on February 28th, 2009 at 11:09 am
Alright thanks anyway!
You know Attila, you should join the Talk Empire forums – they’d need someone like you!

Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 9:37 am
Hey Attila, I recently updated my computer to a level that I am relatively proud of. It’s an 05′ Sony Vaio desktop, and with my latest upgrades (Radeon x1650 graphics card last year, and doubled RAM from 1g to 2g just a few weeks ago), I can run older games such as Medieval II on high graphics with a good framerate. However, newer games such as Dawn of War II and the Empire demo I can only run on low, and even so, they are pretty choppy. My question to you is what would you recommend adding to my computer for a relatively low price (hopefully under $200) to get newer games like Empire to run on a bit higher settings. I’m relatively new to upgrading my computer, and I don’t know what parts aside from what I already have added will help performance.
Some Specs:
Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz
2.0 GB RAM
Radeon x1650 graphics card.
Thats all I really know, if you need more info, just ask and I will try to find.
Many Thanks.
Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 6:44 pm
wow u really helped me
ill try to buy 1 thats $1000 or less but 679.99 or better
Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 11:43 pm
hmm, Bokonon, i’m not an hardware expert but you computer probably is at the peak of is capacity. You mother board is probably to old.
You would need a new computer.
Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 11:49 pm
Will this run ETW on all ultra with no lag?
Cyberpower Essential 3000 – http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Essential_3000/detail#configurator_top
Video Card: GTX 260 896MB
Processor: Intel 2 core quad Q8200 @2.33GHz

Posted on April 10th, 2009 at 10:32 am
at the moment ATI radeon 4800 seem to be better and cheaper.
Posted on April 10th, 2009 at 10:55 am

Hi Attila,
Is your ATI HD 3870 praphics card a 256MB or 512MB? Are you gonna make a COD Modern Warfare 2 walkthrough when that game is released? Thanks.
Posted on April 28th, 2009 at 12:21 pm
it’s a 512mb and i probably will make a cod modern warfare 2 walkthrough if i’m still alive =P
Posted on April 28th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
hey Attila waht type of computter is your but mostly waht is the name of the model because i want to get the same computter as you but you only give the store you bought it from but no model?
Posted on May 12th, 2009 at 8:17 pm
i have an IBM Intellistation Z pro, but you really don’t need that for gaming… I bought it on ebay
Posted on May 13th, 2009 at 11:07 am
Hi Attila,
I just saw your answer and I forgot to check back after I submitted my question. I just brought COD4 Modern Warfare and it seems kinda a little bit slow hen I play the game. I currently have a ATI Radeon HD 3450 256MB card and all. Also, what do you mean if you’re still “alive”? I’m sure you’re not even that old to begin with. It would be cool to see a COD Modern Wafare 2 walkthrough from you as you’re a good player. Thank you.
Posted on May 16th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
make sure to turn down antialiasing and anistropic filtering, that should increase your performence.
Posted on May 16th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
How do I do that? I probably wouldn’t be able to access my video card’s information since DELL installed for me when I purchased my computer. Funny thing is that it is a slim tower and if I get a video card that is too big, then I end up blocking the ventilation for the PC. I brought my computer from DELL. It has a Intel Core 2 DUO 3.00 GHZ processor. MY RAM is 4GB and I have 500GB of hard disk space. Also, what did you mean by if “I’m still alive I’ll make COD Modern Warfare 2 walkthrough”? How old are you? I assume that you’re young and not 103 years old like your youtube profile says. Thank you.
Posted on May 17th, 2009 at 12:03 am
just check the games graphical options
Posted on May 17th, 2009 at 8:53 am
Hey Attila, you have a four core processor, as do I. How did you make Crysis work for your walkthrough? Crysis refuses to work for me and I can not figure out why. Might the problem be that I have Vista as opposed to XP?

Posted on June 15th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
attila, mate. wats better, dual nvidia sli or dual ati crossfire. i know that there are issues with dual ati crossfire 3870 with grand theft auto 4 but there are also issues, as my mate told me, with dual nvidia sli 9800 in turning point fall of liberty. for processors, which is better, intel extreme x9100 2.8ghz or intel core 2 duo t9600 2.6ghz.
Posted on June 18th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
the best is not to use sli or crossfire, those thing give you maybe 10-15% increase in performence and cost you 2 cards, so, one of the card end up under use. Just buy 1 card of the best model and you will get a much better deal.
Posted on June 18th, 2009 at 10:34 pm

hello attilla, it’s me mrtrainlover88 from youtube
Posted on September 30th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
Jack, what kind of vid card do you have and on what settings are you playing. Your playing on a laptop so do you have the power management set to maximum power? I play on a laptop also, with 2Ghz 2Gb Ram and GoForce Go7600 vid and can play lag free on low settings.
Check those things. If AA is on, turn it off, same with Vert Sync. All settings low. All special effects off. Includes shadows. Shadows eat up resources.

Posted on January 17th, 2010 at 7:00 pm
Hi Attila,
When you first brought Modern Warfare 2, did you install the game normally or through the a STEAM account? I have different people telling me that I can install the game normally like any other PC game, but I also got people telling me that a STEAM account is required in order to install the game. So, who’s telling the right answer? T BTW I finally switched to a NVidia 9500 GT with 512MB and it’s faster but some parts of the game is slow. Thank you.
Posted on February 14th, 2010 at 2:13 am
xp is faster, i got the eee pc netbook. it is a great laptop i also got it for 300$ not that much
Posted on February 15th, 2010 at 1:35 pm
You need to a steam account to be able to play Modern Warfare 2.
If you already have a steam account, just install the game as your steam is open.

Yes, but you should buy others 2GB of ram
Posted on February 6th, 2011 at 4:29 am
Hi Attila, i’m just wondering if you are still useing the computer setup that you posted here(it was posted 2006 so~) or have you made any adjustments?
I saw your Shogun 2 Siege Battle and it’s going pretty smooth for you despite even recording it. Also if you know, what temps did you get on your graphics card ^^?
I tried the tutorial and it went pretty ok for me, performance-wise but my GPU was on around 80′C, anything i should be worried about you think? it’s a GTX 570 :D
Posted on February 28th, 2011 at 12:15 pm
yes i usually keep that page up to date because my computer spec is a big interest. So these spec are current.
I didn’t check my temp but it rarely get over 60-70 at worse.
80C sound a little high, maybe your computer need some cleaning or a more efficient fan. Card don’t like dust. If it reach over 95C you should start to worry because it may damage your card.
Posted on March 1st, 2011 at 1:14 pm
I may be a noob for asking , but are these specs up to date because it says 2007 at the top of the post?
Posted on March 3rd, 2011 at 12:21 am

And I know this is off topic but why can I sign up at the forum?
Posted on April 22nd, 2011 at 8:29 am
Hello, Attila.
I like your gameplay videos very much and they do inspire me and help me through my gaming.
I apologize for the irrelevant question but I am wondering what software do you use to record your gameplay along with your commentary? I use Fraps but microphone recording is too wimpy.
I would be grateful if you advise me which software to use!
Posted on May 16th, 2011 at 3:04 pm
@gamerman19
Certainly the 1st option. Mobility Radeon HD 4200 can’t play any game that was released after 2005/2006. The processor is also weak. It isn’t a gaming laptop at all.
At the same time the first option has i7 – something really awesome for a laptop. GT 540M is also good right now, can play games like crysis on high.

Posted on August 2nd, 2011 at 3:59 pm
@Good PC
Not sure about AC3, but GTA 4 has lots of issues. If it’s the problem with stuttering, then: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1269228 . For me personally disabling event viewer helped. If it’s not stuttering, then I hope you aren’t trying to run GTA 4 maxed out with view distance at 100. Graphics cards under 5800 series mostly can’t handle it. Everything else seems normal to me…
