As the title says ill be reviewing a PS2 game although with no footage sorry bout that but i think of this as my first real article so if this site does one day lift off …i have some practice so lets continue.
So the games storyline is the Indiana Jones movies you can really think of this game as 3 smaller games in one in each chapter you have about 6 levels each lasting around 30 minutes but if you want to complete the game in a 100% you have to play through the game multiple times.
Of course if you played the previous Lego games before you will know that the game always has more then just the main game in ,the Lego games always add a little bit of something extra to enhance replay value and especially with a buddy it adds to the fun.
The Lego games are mainly recognized in because they don’t take ourselves too seriously way of portraying a movie just like the last 2-3 games instead of text bubbles or voice acting they use pantomimic expressions to portray the story of the movies in a fun way…although those who haven’t seen the movies might get confused but the cut scenes are still fun.
Due to they are blocky nature even though a Indiana Jones movie game violence such as ripping another guys hearth out or decapitations is a whole lot less then poping a head off .
The puzzles in the game aren’t impossible or stupid they are logical and fun and very different then those in the Lego Star Wars games,to gameplay is added by certain characters having phobias, the ability to use fallen enemies weapons or to wear their hats even though its mainly for decorative reasons some hats are needed to bypass certain checkpoints of enemies to reveal secret locations.Speaking of enemies the enemies aren’t reffered to nazis or anythings just enemies or bad guys .The music relly fits the action sequenced parts of the game and i really after playing this game wanted to hear that old Indiana Jones theme song.
The only bad part i encountered in the game is the friendly AI and the annoyance of enemies respawning at some points. The Lego games aren’t known for theyr lighting or graphics but cause of the fun you wont mind.
Overall the game is a game for anybody mainly for Indiana Jones fans the game stays true to its predecessors of the Star Wars variety with some added touches even though if your not a platformer fan id recommend this game it has fine moments although i didn’t test the Co Op but i tested that in The Lego Star Wars games overall i recommend this game since i have a good feeling that Travelers Tales ones it branches of the movies it will make a franchise of its own .Have fun.
Here is a edited video showing some aspect of Grand Theft Auto 4, Enjoy.
I’ve bought God of War 2 a week ago. God of War is known as one of the best action-adventure games for PS. Some say Prince of Persia is better, I say they are different: God of War is a more gore, button bashing and slashing kind of game while POP is more a puzzle game with more tactical fighting. But enough about POP it’s a topic about God of War :D
Story: for the ones that have played the first GOW you know that Kratos killed Ares and became the God of War himself. In GOW 2 you start were the first ended you are the GOW and you let your Spartans conquer Greece, the other gods didn’t like this, so u we’re punished (as you can see in the vid). In the first one you had to beat Ares with the help of the god Athena and other gods. In GOW 2 you have to defeat the gods that oppose you (from which one of them is Zeus) with the help of the titans. Although as far as I understand the story for now.
Gameplay: The gameplay is really cool, lot’s of slashing with your blades of chaos and you will later unlock new weapons and magic. A boss always has to be finished tactically, and not just by continuously attacking them. So very good gameplay.
Graphics: this game is also good because of it’s nice graphics, you always have nice backgrounds on the battlefield and the battlefield itself has been worked out in details. The only bad point is that you can’t place the camera behind you’re character (like in POP :P ), but you have a camera that’s standing in the same position, which led to some problems in the first GOW, but they say there aren’t going to be anymore of these problems in GOW 2 and until now (where I got in the game) they’re right.
Sound: Really good music, better then some Hollywood movie music.
Now the vids: I began recording right from when I started playing the game, so this are the first 20 min of my gameplay of the game.
This video is the second big battle vs the colossus of Rhodes, in the first 5 min I died, I put that in the video because u could see the difference between the failed and the succeeded battle. You’ll see that you always have to beat a boss in some kind of tactical way.
I haven’t played much more actually, I got were you had to finish the Colossus of from the inside, then you were betrayed by Zeus. There are rumors of GOW 3 that would come out on PS3 and the main villain in that one would be Kratos’ brother. But that will be a few years waiting.
Here’s some more Black for ps2. The first vid is the end of a level where I died twice, the first time I stepped on a mine, the second time I got killed :P The second vid is the beginnig of the level after the first. Not much else to say I think I told everything in my first post of Black.
Here’s another game I’ve been playing, beat em ups aren’t actually my type of games, but I find this game really worth playing. It might be because I was a huge fan of the series, but I think people that didn’t watch the series would also have a lot of fun with this game. It really has the DBZ feeling. Only on the Wii were the controls bad I’ve heard, but I play it on PS2.
The first video is in the story mode where I was beaten twice, I’m not so good at this game then, now I just figured out how to flash behind peoples backs :P
The second one is just a custom battle showing that you can put up to five characters against each other.
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 has over 150 characters and 30 stages so I think it would be nice to play but I’m not gonna buy it new. If you want to watch the first gameplay vidoes of BT3, just search dbzanto or Sprawlers on youtube.
I have recorded some gameplay of Final Fantasy XII, the entire series of Final Fantasy are games that I would recommend, I played them from FFVII till FFXII. FF XII is the first of the series with active battles (meaning you can run around while fighting). The graphics are really nice, the storyline of this game is welltought. Only of the license system (the system with what you can upgrade your characters abilities) I wasn’t so pleased, I like it more that you have one black, white magician, a warrior, … But there are also more weapon classes in this game like for melee you have daggers, swords, axes, pikes, poles, etc. each with their unique abilities for example katana’s hit more combo’s then other weapons as you can see in the vids.
The first one is me training in the southern part of Ivalice (the name of FFXII planet) to beat the boss of the second vid.
The second one is me fighting the boss.
I would have summoned Belias in this vid, but I was to late so the battle took a bit longer then expected.
Ok first of all this is a game for the PS2. Black is a FPS with graphics which a believe are the PS2 limit, all destructible environments, lots of nice guns whit cool reload moves. The only bad thing about this game is that the levels are long, and there are only 3 checkpoints. I take around 1h 10min (there was 1 that took me 2hours, and also one that took me 45min) for every level on normal. If you have a PS2 this game is certainly something you should buy.
I’m gonna record some more playstation games since I spend more time behind my PS2 then my pc, so I will make a 2 weekly post I think, the bad thing is that it’s September and the frikin school starts again.
