With Arma 3 coming out this year we decided to take a look at the latest DLC of Arma 2 that remain a pretty versatile game even for it’s age. So this DLC put you in the shoes of Czech Republic soldiers in charge of chasing down some War Criminal in a fictive country. Sadly the DLC is singleplayer online and there is no “lite” version like the previous DLC. It’s also usually disable by the different community launchers for somereason. This mean that you don’t have any mod nearly working with this DLC as far as we know. When it came out the first mission was bug and we were unable to even finish the first missions. Fortunately they fixed all this since and you can now see the result of the first mission of the DLC here.

This is a small videos of me and Alf attacking an enemy small tank group that was taking a break near a road. It show how good is the Apache for long range engagement. Enjoy! :)

Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead – Damn Sniper show an intense portion of a game we played recently. The goal of the mission was to clear an enemy artillery position. The objective was largely achieved by an airstrike very early on. That airstrike on the other hand was way too close to civilian population and out of concern for the population we went down to the village. While doing so we became under fire from a sniper that had survived the airstrike. Having now clue where the sniper was we had to rush forward. A few of us were hit and required medical attention on the way. But we finally managed to reach the village and neutralize the sniper. We were using ACE and ACRE and this video is an other epic moment of Arma 2 OA used in Combined Operation. Where 1 sniper can keep a group of players pinned down as oppose to a few players taking out an entire army.

Finally… here is some Arma 2 Combined Operation Coop Gameplay. Sorry for starving my subscriber for like 3 months of this essential game that we naturally go back to after to a few hours of distraction in more commercial game to realize once again, that Arma 2 is the best game ever…

Arma 2 Combined Operation, Missions Editor Tutorial Show the Very Basic stuff you can do in the Arma 2 Editor. This really isn’t anything too complicated and mostly aim at tell only what you need, when you need it to create a simple missions. Once you understand those basic aspect explained here, you should already be able to create a simple and effective mission in a very short time, without even needing to use scripting or more advance functions.

Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead Tank Mini Guide show how to use the different role inside a tank in Arma 2 Combined Operation. It tells what does what and different capacities of each roles. Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead Artillery Tutorial show you the vanilla way of using artillery. Now this tutorial assume that you use Operation Arrowhead, the same system work in Arma 2 if the mission maker activate it. Now you need to be aware that in many missions, the creator may have use other script that make the artillery work differently and since there is no way to know what script they will end up using, i can’t really make tutorial about these.

Arma 2 Combined Operation A-10 Thunderbolt Gameplay is a video that show how to fly a A-10 in Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead in the map from Arma 2 in combined operation mode. In this mission that i created for the demonstration there are a couple anti air weapons, some tank and a tank depot to destroy. To do so I have my A-10 and a British Soldier From Arma 2 Bristish Armed Forces DLC (known as BAF). I control both using the switching key Y and laser target the supply depot for maximum effect. Arma 2 Combined Operations Apache Run is a kind of tutorial showing a way to engage the enemies with an AH-64 Apache. Not the way i took is kinda… direct and i only used that method because i was able to dispose of enemies anti air weapons quickly. The enemies didn’t had so much anti air weapons once i prioritized their shilka and destroyed them. But normally i could be a good idea to remain cautious and remain behind cover since you never know what is ahead of you.

This is some Arma 2 Operation Combined Operation Gameplay using the Mission Control Center MCC Sandbox. We had different objective like blowing up vehicles, and capture evidence of wrong doing by guerrillas. I was playing with our regular Dateyourgame bunch meaning we were semi serious and chaotic as usual. In clear we had some fun. =)

This is a kind of tutorial about how to behave well in a chopper in Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead Gameplay.

It’s really basic and doesn’t intent to teach those who already know how to fly how to to it. But it aim at showing and explaining to those who really don’t have a clue (more people then you think) about how a chopper pilot should behave, at least at the basic level.

Arma 2 British Armed Forces B06: Merlin is a mission where you essentially provide transport for a couple squad around the Takistan map. So it’s a fairly peaceful but still fun mission both to play and too watch. In this video you may notice that the pilot move his head a lot and it doesn’t feel too artificially. Well that’s because i was experimenting with Face track no ir, meaning that my head was moving the view. My set up were not perfect, still I think this video really does feel natural and it feel like your watching from a camera fix to the head of the pilot. It’s really nice. So your head now serve a purpose!

Arma 2 British Armed Forces B05: Concrete Oasis show one of my favorit scenario of the BAF DLC. In this mission you essentially use a few support element the game offer. Also in this mission you are commanding other friendly squads to attack that enemy base and you use a thermal scope. So it’s a fairly short but fun mission.

This is a video Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead in Shapur Map with the ACE 2 mod. This video is a good exemple of how realistic the gameplay of Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead can be when you play with Realism Units. In this case I joined to play with the 15th MEU Realism Unit that i tend to play with from back in the Arma Combat Operation days. This video only show half the mission. The objective was to find out weapons cache in the industrial complex. We were at least 5 mechanize fire team working together.

Now my team mostly played a support role with the Humvee and as you will notice I actually didn’t get much action from that mission but i think the exemplary team play largely compensate in intensity over the action of actually shooting enemies.

I think this video is a good exemple of how a game can be entertaining and intense without being arcade with with explosions all around.
