Evil Genius review and …game design ?

Posted by Greatdictator On January - 12 - 2009

Yes you read it right, I finally have another review up and i found something that some of you guys might be interested in…but first a review :D….of 2009 DUN DUN DUN!!!!

btw i was sick on the day i recorded my voice

basics of what i was talking about
EG review

Focus on style and base design

Almost like Dungeon keeper

Funny AOI missions like stealing the Eifel Tower by shrinking it , planting a fake diplomat
in one of the 5 factions and stealing mr Sunggules

Loot is usefull for more then just decorateing like researching new items

You get a funny radio broadcast even if youll mostly hear the same one

would have been better with cinematics for some AOI

Traps combos encourage base design and trap laying by rewarding combos with money

Minios are easy to know what they do and research is fun and simple

AI is good but it will do some really stupid things at times

Agents and tourists

Building hotels to occupy tourists

Stats and minion care

Lots of funny interrogations and funny objects like brain washing machine

Certian traps are funny as well

game is frustrateing and fun at the same time mostly due to how long it takes
for you to gather money

lots of looney and creative henchmen…and wierd too

Super agents are annoying but satisfeing when you finally defeat them

Evil geniuses have some diffrneces but more locations or special islands for each would
have been better

only 3 same superweapons for each

Game is fun

The game design video:

hope you enjoy

The Québec international Air Show 2008

Posted by Attila On June - 18 - 2008

Well last week was a “busy” week in the real world here, we had the The Québec international Air Show 2008 and for 5 days we had fighter plane from the US, UK and Canada Flying over our head leading the city to become totally unproductive since every one has eyes toward the sky.

It’s very likely that in the coming weeks I will put some of the show from the 4 best squadron in the world for airshow like the US Navy Blue Angel with their F-18, The US Air Force Thunderbird with F-16, The Royal Air Force Red Arrows (UK) with their Hawk T1A and the Snowbirds with the CT-114 Tutors.

This is why you may have notice the two videos of F-16 and F-18 flighing arround with funy story linked to them.

Attila chasing the US NAVY Blue Angels: An Epic Story

After being cut off guard by the US Air Force Thunderbirds last week, Attila has fire half of his spy network and replaced it with a brand new half of courageous men and womens around the world!

Immediately he started receiving very accurate informations about a HUGE US Navy operation with the deployment of the Blue Angels around his hut. Confident of the informations he received, Attila rushed outside to improve his personal photo album and finally have a picture of the Blue Angels planes, since it seems impossible to get anywhere!

USAF Thunderbirds F-16 Have Spotted Attila?

This morning at 1100 Hours Romeo Time, Attila has been thrown out of his pailliasse by four F-16 from the US Air Force as they made the ground shook while flying at very low altitude and started circling around the Attila’s hut in a very disorganized way, but still threatening. After Contacting his wide network of spy around the world, Attila has determined that these planes are here for the biannual Québec international Air Show.

But later the same day during the afternoon, two F-18 from the US NAVY colored in blue and yellow (no footage available so far), in a very “Blue Angels” fashion, has also been spotted circling around Attila’s camp, surprisingly the large spy network remains puzzled by those two new suspect apparitions and unexplained. So the suspense remains did they spotted Attila or not?

Now while those video a nice, be assure that the best is yet to come and if you have any interest in planes you will be happy to hear that I have recorded over 2 hours of show and took around 180 picture of it. Now the challenge is to figure out how I will publish all that… Until then enjoy those two teasers! :D

Saving Gamer from themself?

Finally CBC joined youtube. :)
Here is a small report they published on youtube about a solution for video game addict in China. I would really much like to know what you guys think about that video game solution.

I would also like to know, do you consider yourself an addict? ;)

(Since I’m on a video game break and survive it very well… I guess I’m not so much an addict, but still… i’m a fanatic. ;) )

Sir Ken Robinson on Creativity

Posted by Attila On March - 16 - 2007

It’s rare we post video that we didn’t created, but on rare moment we think it worth it.

Here is a video from “TED talks” from TED.com. It’s a conference by Sir Ken Robinson, author of Out of Our Minds: Learning to be Creative, and a leading expert on innovation and human resources. (Recorded February, 2006 in Monterey, CA.)

This is a very entertaining and enlightening video about creativity in education.

Watch and listen closely it really worth it
For the original source and more videos like this go to http://www.ted.com/tedtalks/

We think this video is really interesting for any one here on the blog, as normal people from every age, since it can inspire you to realize his own creative potential. What is said does apply in real life and video game in our opinion or any of your future projects. We are all good at something. It’s not because educational system or others don’t understand it that any of you can’t reach your full creative potential both in real life and video games.

The video Game Revolution

Posted by Attila On February - 4 - 2007

Here is an interesting documentary I found on Google Video, It explain the history of gaming, from pong to now worth a look. It show very well the evolution of gaming

I think this documentary explain well how the industries was born, did grow, and where it’s going.
It also point out the issue that violent video game had since the beginning until now and why those that aren’t game don’t understand what it is about.
