Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Danger Close Review (Podcast)
Danger Close is the perfect perk for people who like to blow stuff up. This perk increase by 1.4x the damage of explosive weapons. This mean this is the perfect perk for noob tubing, rocket launcher, claymores, grenade, etc. Not only does it boost those but also boost explosive killstreak rewards. Combine with scavenger or One man Army, this perk is easily the most cheap perk you may want to use to ruin the experience for you enemies.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Hardline perk Review (Podcast)
The hardline perk is a perk that reduce by 1 kill the number of kill necessary to reach a killstreak reward in CoD MW2. This perk is mostly usefull in hardcore. In normal mode it prevent you from using the stopping power perk. To compensate this effect you may want to use the scavenger or one man army perk with it. While the can be usefull to call an air strike I don’t believe you need this perk as you become good at the game. It may be usefull to those who want to call nukes.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Lightweight Review (Podcast)
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Lightweight Review (Podcast). This perk is fairly simple, it speed you up by 7% and in the pro version allow you to raise your gun faster when stopping your run. This feature make it interesting for player that run a lot and can give the edge in a face to face. Lightweight perk is good when combine with Marathon since together they make the player very mobile. You can also use it with ninja perk to make your running arround silenced. Or you may want to use commando to knife people around like a zerg.
Nexus the Jupiter Incident Star trek Universe at war mod
Nexus the Jupiter Incident Star trek-Universe at war
With the release of a few games base of sci-fi series like Star Trek Online and Stargate Resistance. I remembered Nexus the Jupiter Incident, a game very few people seem to knows unlike Homeworld series or Sins of a Solar Empire. Nexus the Jupiter Incident never reached it’s full potential as it was suppose to when named Imperium Galactica III. But still have some really impressive capacities and a few mod maker took advantage of this by making amazingly good looking mods. Star trek Universe at war mod is probably one of them.
This video feature a mission I created myself in less then 10 min, thanks to the Skirmisher mod and the very easy mission editor that the game provide. I put the game in cinematic mod so the AI controls the ship and camera with a good looking result. I hope you will enjoy even is space games don’t attract as many people as other type of games…

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 One Man Army Perk Review (Podcast)
The Perk Marathon allows to run none stop for a longer distance. This perk allows to move arround faster in the environnements and take advantage on the enemy by flanking him. In the context where you need to pull back for tactical reason, this perk can make the difference between life and death.
This perk is easly addaptable to all difficulty level. It is espetially usefull when the player adopt an offensive strategy and want to engage the enemies faster. The pro version of this perk allow to climb ladders and cover faster. This speed reduce the time you are expose without your gun while climbing.
It also combine very well with the ninja perk. Since running make a lot of noise, the ninja perk make it silent. You can also use the lightweight to increase your running speed and to be able to raise your gun much faster when you stop running helping to be ready in a face to face. If you like to run around, you may also like to jump around, so you can complete the set with commando perk that allows you to fall without damage. And since running make you get close to your enemies faster, the commando perk may help you kill the enemies faster with the knife. While marathon perk is mostly a moving perk, it may also be usefull for player that enjoy camping since it allows to redeploy to a better spot faster or allows to flee from your enemies to a better and safer spot.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 One Man Army Perk Strategy Review
One Man Army is a perk that allows you to switch you class at anytime during the game by replacing your secondary weapon. It allows you to replace your class without having to die, meaning that you can simply switch to the same class for an easy ammo refill. This ammo refill capacity is what make One Man Army a useful perk. You can hide in a safe place and use it to gain back all your initial ammo without dying.
This is practical for many style of gameplay. With Claymore and C4 you can deploy them, switch to the same class and put more explosive.
You can also put 2 claymore switch to a class with C4 and put some around. That’s very useful for creating a defensive system. You can also use one man army to switch to a class with the sit rep perk while advancing into potential mine field. And switch back to your regular class once you know where your going. It’s also very usefull for snipers that don’t like exposing themselves to get ammo. The only downside being, that you cannot quickly switch to your secondary weapon, you will need to switch to an other class. In the case where you actually anticipate close combat you will be in good condition to face your enemy with the class you switched to. The down side for snipers is that this perk put a yellow bag on your back that may not help your stealth as a sniper. One man army is also usefull for people using light machine gun, switching to the same kit is actually faster then reloading most light machine gun. You can also use this perk to switch to a class better equip to face enemy air support such as having cold blooded or a light machine gun to shoot down plane and cobra. If you start using One Man Army, you will likely end up setting up many custom class that use this perk to be able to switch to each one, anytime you want.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Scavenger Review (Podcast)
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Bling Perk strategy Review is more a podcast then an animated video. Since I like to share my strategies and my subscriber like some visual stimulation, I figured I might as well upload that as a podcast so that the maximum people can take advantage of what i may say about it. I hope this will help player that may not have understand the potential of the perks I’m talking about. As for experienced player this may confirm what you know and I highly encourage you to comment to complete the information I say.
How to increase performence by optimizing your Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta
Many people appear to have terrible performence in the beta version of Battlefield Bad Company 2. The first reflex for most people is to actually think their computer is bad. Well the good news is that it’s likely not the case. This guide will explain you how to turn a very laggy experience into a good experience smooth gameplay.
if you actually have the requirement for the game
OS: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad or higher
Memory: 2GB
Graphics: 256 MB Video Card (GeForce 7800 GT / ATI X1900) (or better)
The game support Directx 9 10 and 11 and is configured to choose the highest directx your GPU can use.
While that choice allow you to get the best visual quality it may tax your system way to much, in my case for exemple I ended up having arround 24 fps meaning nearly unplayable because my GPU support directx 10.1. But while it support it, my ATI 3870 doesn’t seem to be able to answer the higher demand of that directx and this is the case for many people. The solution is fairly simple.
You go in “My Documents” folder then “BFBC2Beta”. Open the file “settings.ini” with the notepad.
Go to the like DxVersion=auto and change it to DxVersion=9. Save the file and launch the game.
This should allow you to play in the less demanding directx the game support and increase significally you fps. In my case it went from 24 to 49 or more.
Also you may want to disable Bloom by changing Bloom=true to Bloom=false. The bloom in the game appear to be too intense for the eyes of many people. it can be blinding… So having bloom disable may increase performence and make it easier for you to spot people.
By default HSAO is set to false, but if it is set to true you may want to put it on false to increase performence.
Finally if your still lagging after all that, you may want to try to turn everything that is on High or Medium to low.
If you still lagging after all that… well you may need to buy a new GPU after all or new computer and I recommend you to check out my Hardware Guide.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Bling Perk Review
Bling is a perk that allows you to use two attachment to your weapons. While there are many potential attachment mix. I found Bling mostly useful when it came to kill enemies with FMJ rounds to unlock larger clip. But here are some combination I find useful. For the assault rifle at normal, using a silencer and an aiming device allows you to remain stealthy on the radar without being force to use the iron sight. While at hardcore using an aiming device and FMJ can allow you to kill your enemies easier even as they hide behind cover. You may also find practical on both mode to use the heartbeat sensor combine with an aiming device to have an edge on the enemies. With sub machine gun you may want to combine rapid fire or silencer and akimbo. Like for assault rifle you may want to use a silencer and the aiming devise of your choice. You could also gain from using extended mag with an other attachment. With light machine gun, the grip allows you to increase you accuracy, using bling you can also use an aiming device to aim making it easier to kill your enemies. With sniper rifle you may find very useful to use the silencer and thermal scope. The silencer keep you off the radar and reduce the flash of your gun, while the thermal score may help you spot your enemies. Bling is a very useful perk that allows you to customize your weapon into something your are comfortable with, without the sacrifice of one weapon attachment instead of the other.

Europa Universalis III and Expansions: Review
This is a video review for the game Europa Universalis III and both of it’s expansions: Napoleon’s Ambition and In Nomine. I would advise getting both expansions if you consider buying it. They can’t be installed seperatly, you got to install NA before IN, but it’s mainly IN that adds a lot of new gameplay options and fixes a lot of bugs.
For someone who never heard about the Europa Universalis or hearts of iron games, these games can be considered as a very detailed Total War campaign without playable battles.
Watch the review for more info:
Here’s the written review if you didn’t understand everything:
Well that’s the question. Europa universalis III, a very addictive unique empire managing game where you lead your empire from the start of the renaissance era till the end of Napoleon, that is if you installed both expansions. Now what do people think when they first see this game: BOORING. That’s people judging by appearance, the beauty of this game lies in the core, it’s the gameplay, not graphics that makes this game so interesting. After this review you can determine yourself if the game is as boring as it looks or the game is well worth playing.
The game has only one game mode and that’s campaign. At the screen to start a campaign you’re able to chose between several periods, well not only periods you can actually chose any date between 1399 and 1821. And I really mean up to the day. The game is historically correct in territory up to the day. Even though you can chose any day, the game provides you with the best dates to start with. You can chose to start at the fall of Byzantium or fight the American war of independence, at the bottom you can see which factions are best to play for that period. At these periods most factions are best balanced and at peace so it’s often the best moment to start a campaign. There are in total 313 factions you can play with, from Europa, to the native Americans, Africa, India, China. Not every faction gives a different gameplay experience tough. For example playing like small factions in the HRE feels a bit the same, still if you play the outcome of each game will be very different.
The game is meant to be played as one of the big European factions but you’re still able to chose to play every faction on the map. More experienced players will have a challenge and lot of fun surviving and expanding with a small nations between the superpowers. Or they might start as a native American faction and defend themselves from the European colonists.
If you click on a faction, you can see on the right the difficulty playing the faction and it’s ‘stars’ for military, economy and diplomacy.
The game is very detailed, far to detailed to explain everything in this 10 minutes review. So I will just discuss the most important points. The stability of your nation is very important, if not the most important factor of this game, stability is determined from -3 to +3. If you have a stability of -3 and you have a big empire then you’re pretty much doomed, rebels will start to pop up everywhere, your income will be cut down and after a while when they see you’re struggling, other factions will declare war on you to finish you off which can be pretty annoying if you have put all that time building your empire.
But most of the time stability drops are your own fault. Stability can decrease by attacking other factions without having an casus belli (reason for war), making stability decreasing decisions on the many ingame pop up decisions and doing something that makes your people lose faith in you, like getting in financial trouble or having a bad reputation. You can increase your stability by investing money in it, the more money you spend on your stability the faster you’re empire will be more stable but the less you can invest in technological progress, structures and military. You can also increase your stability by successfully completing missions or making a stability increasing decision on the pop up decisions you get in the game.
Each faction can chose several national idea’s, these idea’s have a great effect on what kind of nation you want to be, you have land, naval, exploration, cultural and state decisions. Factions that want expand to the new world will take the ‘quest for the new world’ idea so they’ll be the first to colonise the best spots of the new world. While factions that want to conquer Europe will chose land idea’s that increase the power of their military. You can have up to 12 national idea’s in total, the amount you can have depends on the level of your government technology, the higher the level, the more national idea’s.
Another very detailed factor in this game is diplomacy, you can request military access, give money, form alliances or declare war. Every nation has a relation from -200 to 200 with you. You can increase your relations by doing favourable things for other factions like giving them gifts or make beneficial deals and if you keep a good reputation, factions will gradually like you more. Your relations will decrease by doing harm to this faction or by having a bad reputation. You can get a bad reputation by continuously declaring war on other factions and making high demands when you’re victorious.
When factions have bad relations with you, they will be less likely to accept any agreements and will be more likely to attack you. Alliances are agreements between you and another nation to support each other in war, this means that if an allied faction goes to war or gets attacked by another faction you will get the option to join the war. If you decide not to join then your relations with this faction and other of your allied factions will suffer greatly. Diplomacy is very important since if you don’t have any allies nor anyone who likes you, your neighbours will gang up on you and get you in a rough war you’d probably lose.
You’ll probably spend most of your time fighting wars. You can play and expand peacefully but that tends to get rather boring. In each war both sides have a leader of war. The leader is often the nation that attacked or got attacked. If the leaders decide to stop the war all allied factions will stop too, which is sometimes annoying when you’re allied and you were owning the opponent then suddenly you’re ally makes a lame peace deal that doesn’t gain you anything. The degree of you winning a war depends on how many battles you won and how many territories you occupied. It is displayed as a percentage in the right down corner of the game. Once this percentage is high enough, you will be able to make peace and force your opponent, to give money, regions or become your vassal.
During a war, you can only occupy provinces, they will not be a part of your empire until the enemy nation accepted his defeat and gives the provinces to you. It’s sometimes frustrating when you fight wars against big nations that they will only accept you taking 3 to 5 provinces of them while you occupied all their lands. On the other hand if you lost a war yourself, you will only lose that much provinces. After you made peace there’s a truce that you won’t attack the other faction for 5 years meaning you can’t continuously attack the same faction without suffering a major stability drop. At the end of the game most factions have grown pretty big and made strong alliances, this can make you end up in large, epic world wars where you and your allies fight the opposition in Europe and the various colonies throughout the world.
Being in a state of war all the time is devastating for your country and will result in the rise of rebels and a decreased income, so it’s often best to make peace and stay at peace for a while.
Battles are essential in winning your wars.
You can’t fight battles yourself like in the total war games, they are determined with a dice rolling system which may seem kinda awkward and look like RISK. The higher the dice roll the more casualties you inflict. This number of casualties is dependant of the largeness of both armies. There are several factors that increase your dice roll tough, fighting in hilled territory or near a river will decrease the power of the attacking army. While good generals, morale and technological superiority will increase the power of your army. These factors can gain you a victory when you’re seriously outnumbered. In my opinion a small improvement they could’ve add is you being able to set tactics for you’re army.
The game keeps you entertained with several historical events. At the end of the 15th century till the end of the game you slowly discover more and more of the world, giving you a chance to escape Europe and colonize the far away places. Pirates will start popping up in the 16th century blockading docks which will force you to create a strong navy. Another event in the 16th century is the spread of the protestant and reformed religion across Europe. You’ll have to deal with religious zealots trying to spread their religion by force and sometimes have to change your state religion to one of the heretical beliefs.
In the 18th century you’ll see an increase in nationalism and revolutionaries in your lands. Such as colonial separatists like USA, Canada and Venezuela who want to be freed from their European motherland. These events give you a change to the continuous sometimes repetitive war faring, economy and diplomacy improving you’re doing the 400 years you play.
Having said all this, I haven’t even explained half what this game is about at all, like national idea’s that help you forge your faction into the nation you desire, your servants who will help you preserving and expanding your empire, economy with centers of trade and monopolies, different map views, the holy roman empire, papacy, crusades and much more.
The game also has a multiplayer mode. Here each player can chose a faction and play just like the single player campaign. Playing co-op with some friends is fun and makes the campaign a lot easier knowing that your neighbours have your back.
The game might be a bit overwhelming for someone playing an Europa universalis game for the first time. You can find a lot of info on the wiki, http://www.paradoxian.org/eu3wiki/Main_Page , which can serve as a guide.
Europa universalis III is a great strategy game with much realism but not so realistic that it would get boring. The game does have a very slow pace, it will take several hours to finish a campaign even when you play on max speed, my average campaign takes longer than a dat, still you can save the game whenever you like making it optional to play one hour a day. It’s a shame the battles aren’t playable and the graphics aren’t up to date. Still this is the most detailed strategy game I’ve ever played, it’s not a mindless first person shooter or a strategy game with stupid ai, it’s a game where you have to think of every action you make because every action has an effect on your own and other nations.
If you didn’t fully understand everything I said, the full written review can be found on DYG and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask them.
Greatdictator reviews : Spore Galactic adventures
Spore galactic adventures is the first expansion (if you count out the cute & Creepy pack ) and it does what any expansion should it expands the experience of the gameplay as well as adding a lot of stuff while all the new captain parts are great I was kinda hoping for some new parts for the creators but hey the adventure creator makes up for it.
I still had my issues with the limitations especially in the limitation of acts …but when you realize it …you can make larger adventures except in parts and by parts I mean think of it as making your own episodic content
making these and sharing them are is a blast and you learn all sorts of ways to make things for instance trying to make a spaceship out of building parts.
Now I did have some issues while the settings for your creatures are quite deep as to how they will react and act during that act and or move ….now I had some issues where characters where they are suppose to be friendly in one act and the bad in the next …i cant seem to attack them cause they are still in friendly stance even though they are attacking me.
There’s also times for when I made my city in the sky adventure where characters don’t seem to move at all when they are on a building or something .
And the AI sometimes screws up on the set paths .
But all of these are issues that I believe will be fixed in a patch or something .
But still what game in which you get a lot of creative options you DON’T have some issues , the adventures that will come from the spore community I’m sure will be great.
And yes I know I said im gonna review Paraworld next but this was a lot faster to do and I had to put out something last week .
Till next time
Starfox shadow of Lylat (freespace mod )
Now here a quite interesting use for the Freespace engine….a starfox mod…yes although this one does seem to be more on the sim side then the original which was arcade. I am quite looking forward to it and….I do hope that they put in the do a barrel roll line in there cause it certainly wouldn’t be starfox without that in my opinion without further ado here the trailer for it an do note that i found this today :P
Greatdictator reviews : Overlord 2
Welcome to the written portion of the Overlord 2 review for DYG hope you enjoy it .
A game like Overlord 2 is undoubtedly one of those game that isn’t exactly THE BEST but is rather close up there , by not only being fun but also adding its own style and charm ….and even yes it is sorta like pikmin….its in my eyes from what I know of and seen of pikmin .better.
Overlord 2 is an overall improvement over the original , the story starts out by Gnarl telling you that the minions have been scouring the lands for a new Overlord , since at the ending of raising hell one can see one of the mistresses pregnant , so you start out as a child in the small town of Nordberg there’s almost something Fable 2′ish to it.
Once you manage to escape the now new power in the land namely the Glorious empire that has put a ban on all things magic…and guess what you have magic in your veins , now I guess one can think of these guys as nazis of magic but whatever the reason once you escape them and get frozen your minions take you towards your new underground tower where they raise you up till your old enough to start bashing baby seals .
As mentioned in the video review the games story is still interesting just like the first one and the expansion .
Gameplay has been overall improved with not just making the minions even more fun to use , one of the main new features are the mounts the mounts are what they imply mountable animals , sadly the even though there are 3 mount types for various colors they aren’t used as much as you do the wolves so that’s a bit disappointing but its still fun when you do use them , this game is a lot more focused on minions and their ability’s sure most of the puzzles are still based on what color minion you have but this time their a bit more challenging and requier’s a bit more active role , some minions like the blues can now blink through enemy’s if you guide them through it or to clear away the magic radiation in the tower wastelands area .
2 Additional gameplay mechanic’s are the catapult sections and the ships sections , while they are both fun and enjoyable the game doesn’t implement the ship as much as I had initially hoped for hell they could have made a ship battle between the elf’s and the empire and you could have boarded an empire ship with a catapult and there you go you get the best of both worlds .
The spells have pretty much been revamped instead of having a fireball as your first magic spell you get a lighting attack initially this isn’t very usefull against enemy’s , but the alternative use for it is so much better you can now actually take control over slaves , people and citizens and turn them into….your slaves ( double loss for the slaves then he he ) , while in an area that isnt a town you’ve already conquer’d these slaves serve as cannon fodder to distract the enemy until you can kill them , while in a conquer’d town you have a hundred citizens that can be either turned into slaves or be killed since instead of being evil and somewhat evil you choose between being EVIL and REALLY evil ( in other words being dominant or being chaotic ).
The light RPG mehanics are present but expanded this time by having the ability to upgrade your minion’s hives , but the forging is a bit more streamlined this time around but lost a bit of a personal touch to it though .
As mentioned in the video review the game , the new enemy’s also pose a whole new level of challenge where I hardly died in the original I found it rather difficult to survive as many times in this one , since the formation ability gives the empire units almost ridiculous defensive boost until you kill their commander that is which adds a somewhat more tactical thought to the game .
One of the more fun aspects is still the ability to turn your tower or domain of evil more comfy , this time you have a lot more options by having 3 different mistresses ( one being a ghost …so that’s akward if you please her into bed ) whoever you choose to be first mistress you get her set of stuff of course you can change between mistresses to mix it up as much as you like .
The graphics and art design is even better then the original , with small animations touches in both minions and the animations…in all of this both video and this text I forgot to mention that the humor is still present , weather it be the fat …and almost scary fairy’s to the large emphasis on killing baby seals it still retains the same humor as the original although , some of the best lines are still delivers by Gnarl although there aren’t as many of them ( in my opinion ) as there were in the original .
For some reason the minion AI doesn’t seem as effect when it comes to bringing back stuff in the original after they break something they pick it up and put it on or bring it to you but in this one there were more then enough times where I had to send out another minion to pick it up , but the minion AI besides on that aspect is an improvement .
Overall this Overlord is an improvement over his predecessor ….and he didn’t lock himself in an eternal abyss , but like its predecessor it isn’t a perfect game but its still good….erh bad EVIL fun
Check in again when I review Paraworld .
