Defense Grid The Awakening Demo review
Something really quick …and the written review here isnt the text but things i missed out and or might have not mentioned
Defense Grid Demo written review
Now the best way you can describe Defense Grid is a Sci Fi version of the Warcraft 3 map Tower Defense and quite personally i prefer this one for a couple of reason first off the graphics are well polished , art style is great in level design and enemys …now the enemys there ae several of them in the demo and alot more in the full version but the most interestign is the one who can teleport an enemy infront of him…but DAMN those boss enemys are quite though.
The main goal of the defense game is to prevent the enemy from obtaining the power cores and if i heard right you lose power in a sector the more you lose of them…an additional danger to this is the fact that once the enemys that are killed while carrying them the cores dont respawn but slowly drift back and they can be recaptured by the enemys if they get too close.
Now all towers dont work the same so range and attacks might differ so you also have to think about where your going to place them as well for example the flamethrower tower has low attack but can attack multiple enemys at once and has a low range so you have to put it somewhere where enemys pile up and where he can hit the most of them , or the laser tower which burns enemys after it stoped shooting the enemys will continue to take burn damage until they cool off.
As stated in the review the gameplay is implemented with the level design but i aint sure if theres a pause button but if there isnt then that adds to sort of a need for quick thinking especially when you see the aliens comeing closer on the radar…i still find the radar to be a very nice thougch so you know which kind of enemys are comeing.
Now on a last note i know that this review is short but…hey i didnt play that much alright.
The game supports achivments as well and the games interface as well as its camera as yuve seen there is no mouse cursor…which made me instantly think if the developers would have ported this onto the Xbox Live Market place since like is said the games interface definetly would be up to the job of playing this game with a joystick and it isnt as fastpaced as other console RTS games so the palyer has time to select tha twhich he wants and build it up.
All in all i hardly found any complaints except that the demo was short…so i would urge you all to go out and try the game hopefully you guys will like it .
Have fun.

Evil Genius review and …game design ?
Yes you read it right, I finally have another review up and i found something that some of you guys might be interested in…but first a review :D….of 2009 DUN DUN DUN!!!!
btw i was sick on the day i recorded my voice
basics of what i was talking about
EG review
Focus on style and base design
Almost like Dungeon keeper
Funny AOI missions like stealing the Eifel Tower by shrinking it , planting a fake diplomat
in one of the 5 factions and stealing mr Sunggules
Loot is usefull for more then just decorateing like researching new items
You get a funny radio broadcast even if youll mostly hear the same one
would have been better with cinematics for some AOI
Traps combos encourage base design and trap laying by rewarding combos with money
Minios are easy to know what they do and research is fun and simple
AI is good but it will do some really stupid things at times
Agents and tourists
Building hotels to occupy tourists
Stats and minion care
Lots of funny interrogations and funny objects like brain washing machine
Certian traps are funny as well
game is frustrateing and fun at the same time mostly due to how long it takes
for you to gather money
lots of looney and creative henchmen…and wierd too
Super agents are annoying but satisfeing when you finally defeat them
Evil geniuses have some diffrneces but more locations or special islands for each would
have been better
only 3 same superweapons for each
Game is fun
The game design video:
hope you enjoy

Fallout 3 review
Well everything is FINE and dandy in vault 101 the game starts …with what has to be the youngest starting age so far in any RPG it starts you off at BIRTH so thats quite suprise the first time you play through it .Then you have quite a nifty selection of beards, hair styles and lots of other things I didn’t capture them all,but am sure that everyone thats watching this now probably already saw this somewhere else , but anyways the game is huge has a good story and above all has good gameplay so lets start with the story.
Basically put without spoiling the story you were literally born and raised in vault 101 starting from your birth till you 10 years old through the infamous GOAT test till the day that your father escapes the vault …and ill say it right now the game has 4 ending …not 400 .While your in the vault the game cleverly introduces the you to the games basic mehanics such as use of the VATS system and you create your characters look as soon as your born .You will also have a birthday party when your 10 .
Well once you exited the vault you get your first glance at the Capital wasteland where many dangers await…but first lets go to Megaton the first town that you’ll probably either save or destroy
depending on which path of karma you’ll choose ,the game has one of the best and is among the best of games that have a very good morale system, for those of you who have played Oblivion the games talk system might seem familiar except for the different look but still its nice…although I wish that they would have give your character a voice though ,since its kinda hard to imagine what tone of voice and all your character is using while you talk .But anyways if you have a high enough speech skill or a perk sometimes it opens unique dialog options.
No matter what you heard Fallout 3 is not a shooter it has a FPS perspective but you can go to a 3rd person perspective but its only recommended if you wanna check out your characters gear , the game offers a lot of exploring and a lot of stuff to collect such as bobble heads ,find secret areas such as the Bethased studios building , schematics for self built weapons and perhaps and an old favorite for the fans …Hermin…or was it Herbert …well anyways its an old character from the previous games hes a Ghoul that grew a tree out of his head and now it grew big enough to have a nice little sanctuary of green in that barren brown wasteland .
The games world moves in real time so its always different in one place of the world you might encounter an encounter between super mutants and some Talon company mercenary’s or your in danger and are being attacked and you run into a caravan on their way to the next town and they save your life …no matter where you are theres always a chance of something else happening on the other side of the area or in the middle of D.C . The game has a HUGE list of places you can visit sometimes you will wonder maybe they should have put a bit less environments since most of them have multiple places to explore within them you will always wonder whats there and whats there especially if your like me and search every little square of these places for First aid kits if your like me to cheap to pay for new stimpaks .
You can even break into houses too see if anythings available there, such as guns or books…now books are one way to increase your skills during your play time ,the game also has a rather fun way of both hacking terminals and lock picking.
Now onto the combat part of the gameplay well that and perks, perk enable you some special attributes or powers or add extra point to your stats …but you will grow fond of some more use full ones such as my favorite the mysterious stranger perk which if your lucky every time you use the VATS system you will have your guardian angel kick some ass .
The real time combat is somewhat more difficult and is mostly used when the player doesn’t have anymore action points to spend to use the VATS system…in the end you will find yourself using the system the most especially if you have the Bloody mess perk which for some strange reason no matter where you shoot your enemy’s they will fall apart completely most of the time but it’s still sweet to watch that cinematic camera zoom in on your face before you blow off your enemy’s head in glorious slow motion.
The music in this game…well I cant say anything more but the radio station music has some pretty sweet tunes and old classic’s such as I don’t want to set the world on fire and some more and if you like such songs then theres several more that am sure you’ll enjoy as well ,you will find lots of different other stations ,such as a Chinese army or liberation station or whatever , later on after you complete a quest one that has you retrive an violin from an old lady and my favorite Galaxy news radio which a pretty cool DJ which gives you updates on the things you have been doing and calling you whatever title your karma level has given you …although by the time he finally reports one of your latest deed’s you will most probably have done 2 or 3 others.
The graphics are up to todays standard’s and deliver a great atmosphere of atomic bombs hitting the 1950′s futuristic America …even though they could have made less debris in the streets its seriously annoying trying to find the right subway tunnel. And just for a side note this series was originally a 2D game .
If you have an house or an apartment you can spice them up with one of several themes such as wasteland explorer ,laboratory, vault, raider ,LOVE MACHINE …or something like that and my personal favorite the pre-war theme you’ll also get several different things like a book for your stats or stimpacks and food, your house or apartment will also be where you put your bobbleheads which add to your attributes or skills , oh and if you want to keep your beloved dogmeat safe you can put him in your house or apartments since sadly he cannot be revived. And just on a quick side note … I never really saw exactly why radiation is damageing never did much to me.
My only major annoyance is that unlike the previous 2 to 3 games this one doesn’t have animated endings which is sad since the games intro pretty much shows that it probably would have been sweet.
Overall if you liked or loved the previous 2 Fallout games then you shouldn’t be disappointed by this one even though I haven’t played the previous 2 am pretty much sure that this is a bigger ,richer and above all more bloodier game then the previous 2 , even if your a hardened explorer or recently got out of a vault yourself you’ll love the wastelands of DC .

Greatdictator review’s Far Cry 2
Far Cry 2 …even though i haven’t played the original that much i can see that these 2 games are a sequel in name only.
Far Cry 2 is definetly one of those games that literally requires you too SHOOT everyone…no seriously I mean it everyone that isn’t in A ) a house , B)one of the people you talk to ,WANT’S to kill you…it has to make you wonder….how the hell does everyone know that they NEED to shoot you it just doesn’t make sense and just by the fact it makes you wonder…is there any story to this killing of hundreds of black and white people …Why yes yes there is.
You get to choose one of several characters that mainly serve for looks but its still nice to have a bit of an option. You enter an unnamed country in Africa that is like probably the rest in a state of chaos and war with 2 rivaling factions going at each other’s throats like dogs but your not here cause of them your here for the Jackal a mysterious arms dealer that cant seem to be captured unless he wants to .Oh and lets not forget you also have Malaria so you will need to try and find medication through out the game Malaria will rarely appear but you don’t want to be caught with it in the middle of a gunfight do you ?
SO… what does one need as a mercenary thats hunting a mysterious figure ? Guns ,guns and MORE GUNS (insert small sample of killing people and blowing stuff up here in video)…why do you need them cause just as mentioned before EVERYTHING wants to kill you cause pretty much everything has a gun with them…and thats why its always a good idea to use the flamethrower and burn them….as well as sometimes the environment.
You have to buy most new guns since the ones you get from enemy’s are used, dirty and will often jam and if overused break down all together ,you pay for the guns in diamonds and there are only 2 ways to get them work as a gun for hire or try to find them …although the first option is more preferable since you’ll only find 1 or 2 in each brief case and rarely 3 but its sometimes good to try your treasure finding skills since the game has an interesting way of trying to find them sometimes just trying to find them is a reward by itself .Before I forget to you have to buy the weapons from a Arms Dealer that when your not on a mission he can give you a mission that will unlock some new toys to purchase you can also purchase upgrades such as manuals to increase accuracy on certain weapons or getting certain equipment that increases ammunition storage for certain weapon types.
Why is it a reward by itself to explore you ask well thats simple the game’s world just feels stunning and great and full of life as tree’s and grass go gently with the breeze ,during the daytime its preferable to use the boat since those pesky checkpoints are a lot more rare on the river and its just relaxing to drive the boat through the jungle with the sun up atop at some points I wished I was there so i could take a nap cause the environment seems peaceful…and trust me when I say this if you have a computer that can run the highest setting set it to that cause I have been playing the game one medium setting and it SIMPLY looks gorgeous ,the animation is fluid ,everything resembles a living breathing Africa…well if you take away the part where factions do war with each other …well anyways back to the topic at hand the game also comes with a nice array of vehicles but you’ll find yourself useing technicals since having a mounted gun for protection is always an option..the game could have profit more from a more quicker and safer traveling system such as an instant jump to a location if your in a vehicle but the games environments more then makes up for traveling through the dangerous checkpoints where the africans shoot at you on sight.
If you get shot and lose a lot of health and your on your last line of blood you can preform a quick self surgery…viewer discretion is advised though ,and patch yourself up ,in case you DO fall in battle an addition to what makes the games realism better and keeps the game less frustrating is the buddy system basically if you have a buddy thats rescue ready you will always get a second chance at the battle and he will support you and drag you away from the hot zone but not to far of course.
But die a second time after that and your done for. The vehicles in the game handle great you’ll find yourself mostly using the technical a vehicle with a mounted gun since it will probably offer a lot more protection from the random encounters of other patrolling technicals and yes I forgot to mention this early .There are also gliders which will at times definetly give you a nice view of the surroundings some of them can be found at safe houses the games besides towns ONLY safe locations there you can go and get some sleep and make sure that some time passes since the game has a 24 hour day night cycle which translates from day to sunrise to night very smoothly at times you will hardly notice that the sun is going down until the environment looks a bit orange but its always nice to have a look at it.
One of the things you will see most of are explosions and FIRE fire adds realism and danger to the environment it can scare off enemy’s ,you can light a whole field of grass and watch it burn fire will also catch on fire..he he other building and object to and it will char everything just like in real life another cool deatil is is that you can light or shoot the cannisters where ammo or rockets and grenades are stashed and they will blow up and probably kill some people if they are close its always fun to watch this firework go off even if you didn’t shoot it intentionally.
The games MP is most seen is in the map creator you can create nearly any kind of map go to the site to see the crazy map editor trailer for the game …damn it sure did impress me I mean someone made the pyramids and Venice like maps…thats really impressive in the video you see here I tried my own hand a bit the map still isn’t finished but its for demonstration purposes only so far.
Overall Far Cry 2 is a fine looking and fine working game and with its map creator tool its a creative one too….even though all you do is kill people and torch things but that only adds to the fun
and after all you are a mercenary ,and if you like any games where you are a mercenary and blow shit up then this game is a must buy .
Pros:
-beautiful environments and fluid animations
-intense combat and fun weapons
-approaching your targets any way you want is fun
-and it has a crazy map editor
Cons
-could have been better with a quicker travel system
-AI simply shoots only you the 2 different factions never seem to be fighting each other
-getting shot by everyone gets annoying especially since there are a lot of checkpoints on the roads
Tomb Raider Anniversary Peru, Level 1.
Yup, thought I’d swing a new walkthrough this way, still in process of doing this game, but other priorities come first. Plus I’ll probably put some Far Cry 2 up in a day or two.

Greatdictator reviews Spore (FINALLY)
From the creative mind of the guy that made making a person eat, sleep and poop fun and loveable, namely Will Wright called Spore
The game in total is totally based on the players creativity and depending on what kind of creature you want to create it can be one of 4 things cute, scary ,awesome and….really REALLY BAD! And the story as Will Wright said it so many times goes the way the player wants them to and the story is really ones own when the player is capable of making nearly anything in the games huge variety of creators which we can definitely hope will be more off in the future.
Gameplay wise it has 5 stages the Cell stage which resembles an old school Pac man game, after you crawl out onto land thats where the Creature stage which resembles an MMO starts you will either befriend yourself with neighbouring species…or eat them soon afterwards you will start looking for new parts by either finding ones laying around ..or eat other species for their as you evolve with each new generation of your species you will be able to add more of the parts that you want and have currently found you will also be able as your brain evolves be able to recruit more members to your pack, when your brain finally pops out and you start building a small village you will be in the Tribal stage where the game takes the form of a traditional RTS depending on the way that your diet has been so far you’ll either need to collect meat, fruits, fish or all 3 so far and in the other 2 stages depending on what you chose to be in the previous stages will determine what powers or special abilities you will have in later stages such as calling a large beast of the seas to get you lots of fish or to set traps in the tribal stage or to use nukes in civilization stage, just like in the last stage you will be able to befriend other tribes or destroy them and you’ll get more tools and stuff for your tribe although i do feel that they should have made the tribal buildings also available in a creator …i also think that they should have put up wall’s …but depending on what path you choose the main hut will change , and once you either destroyed everybody or made friends with them or both you will enter the Civilization stage and conquer the WORLD…well your world at least weather it will be ruled by some of the cutest beings in the universe or some of the literally biggest D**** is your decision since the start of the game in this stage you have the most options as far as customization goes you can create depending on what path you have already chosen to go military, economic or religious land vehicle’s ,ships or planes and buildings as well too bad you cant do the same with turrets though and the gameplay is basically civilizations meets Real time strategy and after everyones either converted or conquered and you got the whole planet to yourself you can make a nice little spaceship and enter the Space stage where now you can go to various planets and you can pick shit up with your tractor beam and throw em around or you can gather information from creatures, buildings ect. ..or as the usual just blow stuff up with your standard laser or the nice array of nifty weapons and tools that you can purchase, the game’s space stage is pretty much the end phase of the game and is close to endless and you have lots more to do…although as a imperial AT-AT fan i only wish that i could have had a bit better way to conquer enemy planets, but still you can do alot of things with other planets such as terraform them to a T3 planet so that you may place more colony’s and produce more spice which is the civilization stage’s and space stage’s main resource which you can later on trade for Sporebucks although you will most probably be declared war upon as soon as you’ve colonized your first planet…no actually that will happen after you jump to a couple of stars later….some missions will definetly start to annoy you such as it always says planet attacked by unknown species means you never know if its pirates or enemy ships which can get annoying or the destroy 5 of that species or the ecosystem collapses those 2 get annoying but the missions from other planets are rewarding and have some variety and i might as well say it now and you can blow and entire planet up the weapon will cost ya around 2 million sporebucks but if you manage to find earth and then blow it up then its just as rewarding and the game has its own little achievements and most of them can be won within the games short campaign…oh and btw to conquer a planet you’ll first enter a dogfight style battle before you can commence bombing the planets colony’s.
The game is at least 60 % creating and just letting your imagination loose especially if your talented the game’s creations can look like anything but one things for sure…everything looks like its a Pixar creation, and the best thing is if you wanna see stuff made by other people VIA Sporepedia the game’s catalog of other user created creatures, buildings ,vehicles and so on and there are over 20 million creations for you too choose from. You can even subscribe to other players created content so that every time the guy you subscribed to it uploads his latest creation but lucky if you don’t want to download the stuff theres always the pre made stuff from the Spore developers.
The game has definetly one of the best technology’s so far even if not graphically the fact that you can create…say a spider with like 10 legs 4 arms and 6 eyeball’s and it will still find a way to animate all the different animations is really impressive no matter in what stage your in and its usually just fun to see your creatures make gun parades or praise thi lord later on in the civilization stage.
The game’s music is well executed…oh and did i forget to mention you can even compose your creatures own national anthem once you enter the civilization stage.
Basically the game is literally for everyone the game can take even those that don’t play that much video games and make them addicted to the game just by seeing the amount of things that one can create within its various creator’s which makes the game an excellent gateway game.
Some parts of the game are shallow without a doubt but the game has been made simplified for the casual audience which makes the game more appealing but will definetly turn most hardcore players off of the experience but after all this is a Maxis game and we can definetly expect to see future expansions that will change up the gameplay or add even more parts for us to tinker with…but just like the Sims…its easy to say and see that Spore is definetly a game of its own genre even if it had to take elements of others to create it but no matter if you like it or hate it …until you played it you’ve definetly never experienced anything like it.
Pros
-Gameplay is going to appeal to wider audience due to simplistic design
-music and graphics give the feel of pixar quality
-expansions will most probably pep things up
-and creating stuff is INCREDIBLY addictive
Cons
-its abit TOO simplistic at times
-hopefully the expansions wont have to litte material
-its gets TOO FREAKING addictive
Easiest way to find the Solar System in Spore
Well i thought since i spent soooo much time trying to figure out where it was when i later on found out it was directly behind me i just slapped myself so i thought why not and try make it easier to find for others.
Red Alert 3 Beta Soviet Gameplay.
Well guys, this is it! DYG’s first Red Alert 3 video(s)!
I’ve only played five matches (as of this video’s upload) and have yet to make full use of all the unit’s secondary gimmicks. I guess I’m just stuck in the past with classic C&C rush tactics :P. But this video does demonstrate how useful naval assaults can be now.
My opponent wasn’t well prepared for naval attacks, so I took advantage of this. As well as harrassing him with small rushes of Conscripts and Hammer Tanks, he became convinced I would be purely trying to rush him from the ground. He put up a good fight and held back many of my advances, though once I started rolling in the big guns, he eventually surrendered.
I must say though, that the most interesting faction so far is the Empire of the Rising Sun, whom require plenty of micro-management, especially when it comes to decisions on whether to use a unit as AA or AG. I’ll do a victory vid on them next to demonstrate this.

Empire Earth 3 review
Okey so to me the game isn’t THAT bad,but yeah its got its issues but it has an EPIC intro though hehe .The game also has framerate drops from time to time and crashes but i didnt patch it so yeah …anyways the world domination mode is a nice addition i hope they add that in Empire Erath 4 and learn from past mistakes. The game has its ups and downs but if your a true Empire Earth fan ad relly want to try the game out and if your not like me then at a relly low price if you can find it.Theres always something worse out there but this game is definetly not liked mainly cause most players dont think that the game meet’s the standard that the first 2 games set.But one of the games what i think for the best is ITS art style since the first 2 games most of the factions and units seemd WAY way to similar so that is definetly one of the better design although they relly should have went for realism then cartoony but they relly did i belive do this and RELLY TRY to make a good game…well seeing as to how Rockstar has on April 4th purchased Mad doc software and they are now called Rockstar New England (which is makeing chinatown wars for DS and ported bully to wii and 360).Hopefully they will use the IP of the Empire Earth franchise and learn from mistakes of the 3r game and make number 4…Thank you for reading and cya next time.(before i forget …they have just 5 time periods now but they cover the basics okey cya for real now)
