Silent Storm is an other old game I have. It’s a really a rare type of game that goes back to X-Com in 1993.

Silent Storm takes back those old and effective game principles and put them into the World War II Era and a 3D environment that you can totally blow up. The game is a Tactical, Strategy, RPG, Commando, type of game. The story is really weird and in part sci-fi. It’s not a really fun kind of game to watch but when you understand how it work you can feel all the intensity of seeing your team getting shot at and not being able to do any thing about it until it’s your turn to move and fire back. I think it’s one of the rare types of game where retreat can be a good idea.

I still remember my team being totally pinned down from all side; all wounded facing a certain death. To get out of that bad situation I took a HE grenade, blowed up a hole in the wall of the near building and rushed all the team inside to safety. I never saw any RTS where you actually could do that, or had time to think about that.

An other fun think about that game is that you can use a grenade to traps doors, make them blow up, etc. If there is no path to go somewhere, shot with a machine gun and make a hole. You can also sneak in the back of you enemies and melee attack them with many kind of weapons.

It’s a really nice kind of game; I even played the first demo of it in Russian… (was fun but didn’t understood anything of the story )

So here is a small video showing some of it.

Lately I have checked all my old games and installed some of them. Soldiers Heroes of World War II is one of the games I bought a long time ago. I played the demo of that game 4 days before being able to win the mission that came with it at easy. At that time I was lagging like hell but still it was great. So I bought it. You can play Russia, UK, US and German campaigns compose of a few missions each where you always are totally out number by a crazy number of enemies and I think the max soldiers you have to win is rarely more then 10 soldiers. Against more then 100 or 200 enemies per mission. It’s not the best game to watch, but it’s really intense to play.

This is part one in a series of probably 1-5 i don’t know yet, it depends on how many games I can download. When I was in my early years I didn’t have that much money so I was always on google looking up “Free games”. It would never show me a video of gameplay of the games I wanted so I’m here to help all you free gamers out there. Enjoy and If your a gamer that can’t afford some new games to play at the moment try these games out, they pass the time away and are fun ;).

I was told sometime ago that I should try to upload my videos on Gametrailers, So lately I checked a little the difference in quality with some videos. Seem like gametrailers have a better size, and image quality, but they limit the fps of the video to probably around 6 fps or 10 fps, that is a little annoying. So I think I will stay with youtube (not that I was even thinking of stopping publishing there…). Youtube video are small but they don’t lag… Anyway judge for yourself.

This a Battlefield 2 movie. The epic battle takes place on the map songhua stalemate. The movie was inspired by the film Apocalypse Now.

Here is an other quick battle of Medieval II Total War. It probably will be my last video of this game. After a long thinking and some random playing with the game. I have no more interest in playing that game for a long time. This game is a great game and is really enjoyable, but it’s no more what I’m interested in as a gamer.

The game is now uninstalled from my computer and unless someone want to sponsor more Total War videos from me (probably will never happen). I won’t reinstall the game. I also think people here are already doing a great job of sharing with each other some great tactic, strategy and chronicles of this game and I will sure encourage you continues since I know there are a lot of people reading those post.

I will interest myself in other games in the future to increase the reader base of this blog so that contributor have even more people to read and see what they put here.

But I will also relax a little my pace with the summer coming so that I can enjoy the sun and allow every one to relax from the daily addiction they have to my videos and take some sun and outside fun.

So, let hope I will be able to record some gameplay from great game you know, or don’t know yet

This is the third part of the walkthrough

Episode 11: Here I fight the Carthaginian army in Sardinia, I was lucky it was in Sardinian woodland, I hid my cavalry far in the woods and used them to kill the enemy general and demoralize their army.

Episode 12: Here I attacked the Macedonian capital of Corinth, They had a big army there, but it was weakend after a battle near Sparta with the greek cities. The enemy have 2 armies.

The advance against Carthage went more smoothly then I expected, they lost 4 of their african cities while I had only send two armies there. In the war against the Macedonians I’m beginning to get the upperhand, and I haven’t much progress yet against the Gauls.

Similarities with the battle scene in the film Alexander are purely coincidences. The battle scene in Alexander is pretty damn good nonetheless. Enjoy.

Hi and welcome to my Opposing Force Walkthrough for Half Life. In my Walkthrough i will go threw the full game. I will not try to race the full game i will go slow so you know whats happening. Each Chronicle will be at every new chapter IE “welcome to black mesa”. If anyone wants to help me make these movies feel free too and contact me. Opposing Force is were you play the Special Forces who clean up the mess at Black Mesa and try to kill freeman. It has lots of weapons and stuff. This was filmed of ’steam’ so it has no interruptions and is slightly less laggy.

I had to split this Walkthrough in two because of the chapter time and my laptop closing down i will upload part 2 soon.

This second part in the series shows a simple and quick way of moving your missile units behind your infantry in a nice straight line with 2 keys: shift + 4 (’Sorted Double Line‘ formation)

1. Place your missile units in a line with your infantry behind them, also in a line.
2. Group the missile units and infantry together.
3. When the enemy get close or prepare to charge:

• Disable ‘fire at will‘ for missile units (’A’ key).
• Press shift + 4 to move units into ‘sorted double line‘ formation.
• Press ‘R’ to make them run. (you can select the group and press ‘R’ before you change formation also).

This can also have the effect of the enemy units still try to attack the missile units and so bunch up towards the center. The diagrams explain a little better:

note :

• red = enemy
• orange = missile units
• black = infantry

If the enemy bunch towards the center then you can wrap around their flanks as shown in the video which gives a morale penalty for the enemy, not to mention it is effective against enemy spear units.

The video is not as fluid as i would like, so ill make another to go along with this one, practice makes perfect. This was the 1st time ive tried this strategy, but you can see it works quite nicely, and again as with part one, you can imagine and implement your own variations to suit each situation.

At the very least this offers you a nice technique of moving you missile units behind your front line without dragging a line and risking changing their formation and depth etc.

This is my new series of videos showing interesting and effective tactics that can be employed during a battle.

Part 1:

The ‘Double line’ to ‘Single line’ formation tactic…

This tactic exploits the way in which units target each other:

Things to note:

1. The enemy units are in red.
2. Set up your units in ‘Double line‘ formation.
3. When the enemy is close set units to ‘Single line‘ formation (Shift + 1).
4. Dont forget to make sure your units ‘run’ whilst they change formation.
5. You can have your cavalry together on a far wing (check the video).
6. As the enemy flanks and center is exposed, charge your cavalry into the enemy

From the video you can see how well this works and you imagine loads of variations on this theme, for example you can see that your center opens up too, so you could charge reserve infanrty or cavalry right through your center and the enemies center and ‘u-turn’ into their flanks.

The AI always places their general unit behind their center, and with this tactic the enemy general unit is exposed… easy pickings. Obviously the enemy army in the video has basic units but this will still work during you campaign games with a bit of skill, timing and variation.

A Rome Total War movie for the Barbarian Invasion expansion.

The battle involves over 6,000 soldiers.

Here is a Quick Battle I did to feed my fans of Total War a little on youtube. I wasn’t really motivated but I included some old request into it, like showing the unit placement at the beginning of the Battle. I think the funny thing about that battle is the fact that my general was kill by my catapult… But since that was a Quick Battle that wasn’t a big problem…

Now I go back to my total war break for sometime before having an over dose… making 400 videos of Total War wasn’t a good idea…

It all started there…

This is the last part of the ‘English Tactics’ series, the next will be tactics against the mongols and other faction tactics.

In this episode the army is put to an attack rather than defense, with the enemy routing not long after the infantry cavalry charge. A very quick battle.

Ahhh everyone who like hack&slash rpg have played to Diablo. But Diablo was 2d .. So here is a 3d “Diablo” version. Titan Quest & Immortal Throne is similar in many way to Diablo but it has been improved in many way.

Graphics
This is one of the strength of this game. Graphics are very good for that kind of game! Also, this game can be played on widescreen & HD which make it really look great!

Gameplay
It`s an Hack & Slash rpg so you are always clicking on your mouse and your potion shortcut keys but what else can you expect from that kind of game ? The story is quite simple and you can nearly avoid reading it. There is a lot of item to be found and you will enjoy finding Epic & Legendary weapons as they do not drop often. You can play at normal, epic or Legendary.

If you played a lot to Diablo, well, you are going to play even more to this game. There is 4 act and each act take a lot of time to complete. There is a lot of place to explore and you can found some secret place ( I found only 1 so far ).

Multiplayer
I recommend you make the story the 1st time alone in single player to learn how to play and to know the place. But if you want to level faster, you simply join a game or create one. The more players are in the game, the more experience point you will get. Each time a player join a game, the monster are getting stronger.

It`s really easy to join or to create a game. The maximum player in a game is 6 but 4 is really enough.

Conclusion
I recommend you buy this game if you like Diablo II , it`s almost the same but with better graphics.

In this part (11) I begin my invasion into France this had to be done quickly as if I had waited and started invading somewhere like Denmark then by the time i got round to taking France the would have hand gunners and cannons (bad news) They offer a ceasefire which I had to turn down only way to get 15 settlements.

Part 12 sees me brining another army from Britain to aid my conquest (I like that word sounds cool) anyways i start a war with Milan knowing that i need those settlements quickly and thats pretty much it for this episode.

I continue to build up army’s especially one to defend Rennes which the Milanese have their eyes on, Another quick battle my cavalry wouldn’t get out the gates !!! other than that i just take more settlements and finally win the campaign if you have any questions or requests for battles etc. Give me a comment or you tube pm and ill see what i can do thanks , Catkill

I know that some people here are really good when it`s time to make movie. So i am suggesting to make a friendly competition to see who is the best movie maker.

Here are the rules.

If you want to enter the competition you have to do the movie alone.
You can`t use the movie of someone else.
Bonus point to those who make their own sound/music.
Bonus point on the quality of the movie.
All the video will be posted at the same time.

There is no prize… but that should be fun

This is a Rome Total War movie I made. It features the Julii Romans vs Egypt. There isn’t really much else to say except I hope you watch the movie and enjoy. Music is from the film Gladiator.

I posted this video of Sins of a Solar Empire a couple of days ago. It basically 20 min of gameplay compacted in 3:15 mins. Basically it shows the attack on the last planet of my home solar system and the invasion of the next Solar system 10 min away. It’s clear the enemies did not expect me but they had a couple of Fighters base. The video wasn’t really created to fit with a specific song, but I choose that one from youtube audio swap thing and it seem to fit well. So enjoy either the game or the music
