Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare ACOG Review

The ACOG is a type of scope. This add on can be added to nearly all the weapons of Call of Duty 4. The main interest of the ACOG is to allow the player to aim at a target with precision at long range.

The ACOG has 3 negative impacts though.
It reduces the accuracy.
It limits the view of the player outside of the scope and reduce the movement speed when activated.

This means that it is important to activate the ACOG exclusively when the target is acquired and in the middle of your reticule. We recommend the ACOG uses especially at the hardcore difficulty since the enemies are weaker.

From a tactical point of view, we recommend the ACOG for players that adopt a defensive and careful approach. The ACOG leads the player to act as a supporting role and provide cover for his team, staying at a safe distance from the enemies. Moving crouched or prone to get a better stability provides an advantage to it’s user. Of course, if for a more offensive style, we recommend the use of the Red Dot Sight.

Finally, in general, the ACOG isn’t a very popular add on, since those that adopt a defensive stance tend to prefer a sniper rifle then an Assault Rifle with the ACOG.

I don’t understand why it reduces accuracy, it’s not like wen you put a scope on a weapon (in real life) the bullets start flying the wrong way?

my guess is that “accuracies” in CoD4 mean “recoil” (not sure). so my guess is that since the ACOG is “big” they consider it’s heavier to hold, reducing accuracy.

Also when you are scoped, you probably are in a position that that make the recoil more noticeable.

at least if i was a developper that would be how i would justify it.
