Did you notice the luck damage you took when you cast the reverse invisibility spell? If you raise his disposition to at least 70, and talk to him about the spell again, he’ll give you a ring that would’ve protected you. I got that from the game guide. =)

ahh that would explain why he gave that ring the first time and not the second time.
