Who is Attila?
Hello all, I am Attila, sometimes known as Attila16. Those are the only names you need, since 1997.
I’m a very skilled player due to 15 years of gaming experience. I basically play every kind of game and it doesn’t take me long to become one of the best players of any game.
My goal is to Share my knowledge with other gamers so that those gamers become better and ultimately interesting enemies to fight. By increasing your skill as a gamer, you increase my interest in fighting you.
My goal is also to show the path to professional gaming, since games are still considered just “video games”. It’s time to develop the idea that you can actually make money from playing those games and win tournaments and gain money just by being a good gamer.
As for this blog, the goal is to be a temporary beach head before the “real” Dateyourgame website is available.

Well the important thing is to find the gun you like and get use to it and the pace of reload. The second thing is to find the right balanced armor, speed vs defense. I personally prefer speed since with it you can evade bulled instead of taking them. The third thing is really to know the map, so that you can know where the enemies will come from. Once you understand those principle you must learn to move in a very effective an context sensitive way. Make the right move at the write time is alway the best thing to do. And the best way to learn it is by experience. To gain experience you can expect to lose a lot, but from every defeat you learn and the next time you are stronger.

Hey Attila how do you do those quick keys on Rome Total War i have a white label version which means i have no instruction booklet. Also how do you take all your men out of a settlement all at once instead of doing it one group at a time thanks, Zero / Cookie240

you can see all key by clicking one of the F1 f2 f3 f4 (forgot what one…)
as for you troops out of a town, click ctr-a, that will select all of them, and use left ctrl to select or unselect.

Your Good at all these games and stuff but are you good at CSS, Counter Strike Source Thats where all the good skills are these days. About 5000 or more play it.

Well, I have CS:S, but I never play it because I really dislike how the aim work in Half Life 2: Source.
I prefer aiming system like in Halo, Rainbow Six Vegas, FEAR, Ghost Recon, Battlefield 2 (more or less…).
The aim of CS:S really didn’t convinced me at all… missing a target with a perfect aim on it at less then 1 meter was just too weird for my taste… The fact that team are also really irregular in skill is also a big factor. Either you totally exterminate every one if you have an “ok” team or the other way around.
The arcade style of it also isn’t what I’m looking for in first person shooter, I prefer tension then action.
As for the skills aspect, well there are skilled people in every games, CS:S doesn’t have all of them.

Hey Attila,
I just recruited a unit of arquebusier and sent it to the battlefield along with other longbowmen whose wooden stpikes kept the enemy away. By the end of the battle, the unit had killed 359 men and gained 2 bornze bar…
I never thought they would make the arquebusiers this effective in medeval 2, i remember back in first medeval game, their main use was to scare the enemy…

I am an expert with nearly every form of fighting in BF2.
There are better players than me, however I regard myself as high up there. My specialist skill lies in the assault rifle and gaining kills with this weapon.

oh forgot to add… I had a great idea for chronicals videos wich i could post on the internet and maybe on dvds and give em around for better picture clarity if possible. Thats why i wanted to find out how to make them. I just create custom battles and then save the replays. I would be much oblidged if you would help me with this “conquest”

You don’t have to Download it, you just find a server with a map name with zm in. Then join it, it should then download the files. And why CSS ZM ?
Why not Zombiepanic for Hl1 or Zombie Master for hl2 which is RTS and FPS?

http://www.ijji.com Gunz is another game. You claim you’ll be one of the very best at games quickly. Conquering this game will be very difficult, and I assure you, you’ve probably never played a game quite like it. At first, the game will seem INCREDIBLY simplistic. But if you ever find a guy from the expert channels who’s made a lowbie level account…ask him about kstyle. You’ll get quite a surprise.

I’m not talking about World of Warcraft, it’s different from Warcraft: The Frozen Throne
TFT is an RTS much like Rome Total War, but different. You set up a traditional base economy and make single units opposed to squads. Micro is much more intensive but less strategic, I think.
GunZ is awesome. And wen it first came out on International, did you see kstyling? It took months before people started using it commonly

K-styling was at first a type of glitch found in the game because the sword block/slash had a cancellation effect on any move.
For example, you could jump off a wall, and normally you must complete the animation.
However, what K-styling does it focus on a sword-based shooting game, where you use sword slash/blocks to constantly cancel actions to generate faster speeds, all the while switching between your sword to your gun to shoot and back to your sword for cancellation to recover faster and move faster as well.
To do so, however, key strokes become very important.
One example is the basic move: slashshot
To do a slashshot, it would be something like
spacebar-w-w-e-click,hold-1
Basically, with sword out, spacebar to jump, w-w to dash, e to switch to gun, click,hold to shoot the gun, and back to sword with 1.

PS: have you thought about doing a Close Combat series videos? 2D I know - but real time and with morale. Or perhaps the Combat Mission: Strike Force - when it is out later this year?

As for my employment status, well I’m in a kind of “break” from post university graduation. So I don’t search job at the moment and I’m working on some project with my brother that should pay when finished.
As for video of Close Combat, I don’t think i will make video of that series, even if I really love that series. As for Combat Mission Strike Force, I will check the demo, (if there is one out one day) and check if that worth it.

I just found your blog after searching for “medeviel 2 strategy tips”. I see that you’re “retired” from the game which is a shame for me since I’ve just bought the game. Anyway… perhaps a “comeback with a twist” can come about with Attila now showing you (us newbs) absolutely crushing the enemy via the internet… not the AI… live human slaughter. Then maybe a few comments at the end on why/how you crushed them for those oblivious to the obvious (like me)

hehe, well I’m not a huge fan of the total war multiplayer… The thing I like the most about total war is really the campaign map. The battle are fun… but not as fun as the campaign map from my point of view
So if they come out with a multiplayer campaign, I maybe will start interest myself in the multiplayer

You could be a game developer, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were at E3’s PC Game of the Year awards, nor would I be surprised if you played a developer’s game better than the developer even if he/she hacked into the source code to hack.
Your Total War battles are thrilling, I can’t even beat the medium mode.
Will you do any HL2 vids? I can’t find any PERFECT walkthroughs on YouTube.
I’m considering to do a walkhrough, but I want to see how the DateYourGame people play it.

As for half life 2 I don’t know. I did some try to make a walkthroughs back in 2005 but I was too early for my time (no youtube arround)… I maybe will consider it… But if you want to make it and would like to post it on dateyourgame, that would be cool.
Because I can’t be on all front!
As for developer, I would love to become one. Either somebody will need to engage me.
Or someone else would need to finance me to allow me to raise a team and develop a game.
Or if there are voluntary here we could alway create one.
I know all we need to developpe a game with no cost. The only challenge is to learn how to use those tools

When you go to the website, it resets the specs so you can’t see what mine was, but do you think you could customize a computer using that link, using specs that would run on Medieval 2 Total War with high graphics and no lag and tell me how much the price is? Thanks -Jaxter

well I never used neither, but those card are directX 10 compatible, allowing you to play future vista game.
Nvidia 8800 are out since sometime, so that have driver and have more experience… as for the mb, well the more you have the better it is… I currently have a 512mb card. It allow games to use better texture. As for the ATI HD 2900 it’s yet to make it’s proof but it’s probably what I will get because ATI has a good services.

As for the gun, I like the g36c, it’s effective in multiplayer
For SGM in multiplayer i like the mp5, very accurate.
for single player I like the p90.
as for fraps, just click on the button and it record anything running in directX, check the guide for more detail (i think)
depending the setup it can be up to many gig. 8 min is like 2 gig.

Ok Attila I’m being a bit careful before I buy this so I have a few more questions (sorry)
1-Are Pentium D processors made for gaming?
2-Does Intel Core 2 Duo mean that I get 2 processors? Because the pentium D processor gives me 3.4GHZ for less than the Core 2 Duo does for like 2.6 Ghz… with Core 2 Duo does that mean I get 2 2.6 Ghz processors or what?

well i don’t know any processors “made for gaming” they are made to compute information.
As for the core thing and mhz thing i cannot really explain clearly.
But i know that some 2.6 ghz are more powerful then some older 3.4 ghz because of a change in technology. In general the more expensive it is the better it is…
I cannot really advise you well on that matter, I’m a gamer not a computer engineer…

Yeah, sorry, I just wanted to be sure if I would be able to play it on highest quality, I’ve never gotten a computer that can run any program above “Low” or “Very Low” settings so I try to be careful. I’ll probably go with this system

this computer should work fine… but that graphic card won’t run directx 10 games… medieval isn’t a directx game so you should be fine…

Jaxster, the best deal for money would be. Intel core 2 duo @ 2.13 GHz, most latest games are multithreaded now. I think R6: Vegas is.
I have that proccessor, it’s very fast and stable etc etc. Easy to overclock, good for gaming.
Only about 300.

hmm. nop, would be too complicated to manage, paypal make it really easy and secure for every one and it’s used around the net, I bought mount & blade with it, and my brother bought many stuff with it on Ebay.
Paypal is a like a kind of bank, it was create by the two guys that created youtube. But you need to be 18 years old to use it. That insure that people that use it are responsible and know what they are doing.

yep I am full time gamer at the moment,
But by definition I’m not a geek since that doesn’t fit the definition of geek. I’m not a nerd either since I don’t fit that definition either.
I’m more a “pro gamer” and some pro gamer live well from tournament, for exemple in Korea many make 200 000$ a year. Personally I’m too lazy to do tournament so I will find other way to make money.

hey for Rome Total War, are you able to make custom battles within the game already, or do you have to download something?
cause i just tested the demo and it seemed to work fine, hopefully the same goes for the actual game

yes you can create custom battle, but this isn’t the most interesting feature, the campaign is better.

I know this isnt a faq but i could not find an answer to a few of the same questions on ur video “Medieval Total War 2 Custom Battle”. The battle features England and, what looks like, the saxons. Now I noticed that this couldn’t be the HRE becaue some of the units appeard to be wielding axes. So I was wondering if u posted that answer somewhere or else…

Well there isn’t any easy answer to that question:)
the only thing that you need to know is that even if you don’t see the small marker, it still “exist” in the middle of your screen. so you just need to memorizes in your head where this marker is on your screen and aim by instinct at the right spot. It require some training but you will get use to it overtime
