Men of War assault squad commented 5 show the Smolensk skirmish mission. In this mission you command the soviets army and you need to push the German back in a industrial environment. Once again I played on normal in order to have an acceptable size of video. If normal is too easy for you make sure to give it at try at harder difficulty the action can become much different.

Shogun 2 Total War Siege Battle

Posted by Attila On February - 27 - 2011

This is the siege tutorial battle from Total War Shogun 2.

This is essentially the same battle as before but on very hard. The AI kinda fall in the trap without thinking much. It’s hard to say it’s it’s because it’s a very scripted battle or if it’s a feature of the AI to fall for that. As you probably will feel in this video having over 3k dead people in a small zone has a huge impact on performence giving me a mighty 4 fps.

Total War: Shogun 2 Historical Battle Gameplay show the historical battle of Sekigahara. This was recorded at normal difficulty. The graphic setting are all on ultra.

Men of War Assault Squad Multiplayer

Posted by Attila On February - 27 - 2011

This is a multiplayer battle 2 vs 2. I think this battle illustrate well the different between Assault Squad and Regular Men of War. During Most of the battle very few tank were called and it remained largely a battle around infantry.

Sadly one of the adversary left leaving his partner alone to face us. He did with determination against impossible odd and we salute his perseverance.

Men of War Assault Squad commentaries 4

Men of War Assault Squad commentaries 4 show you a german skirmish mission. I recorded that a couple weeks ago. The commentaries are made live at normal difficulty so my brain lagged a little. Doing live commentaries has the merit of making me explain how i think as i go along. But it’s very challenging for me so enjoy it.

Empire Total War Multiplayer

Posted by Attila On February - 12 - 2011

This is a video i recorded a long time ago but i never posted it for some reason. So essentially it’s one of the rare multiplayer game of Empire Total War i had. Since the game is mostly design arround the concept of musket line battle. What better then sword and shield to bring victory. So essentially in this battle I’m using some cavalry and exclusively sword and shield infantry against a very well balanced army. The other player was actually good high rank and everything but i think my tactic was unexpected.

I’m mostly releasing this video to see if my subscribers are still interested by Total War or if they don’t care anymore because so many other people are already doing videos about that.

Sword of the Stars: Complete Collection

Posted by Attila On February - 12 - 2011

Sword of the Star is a game i had my eyes on since it originally came out but I always had some doubt about getting it. Finally i got it and i must say it’s very addictive. All this thanks to the highly addictive “End Turn Button”. The game is the closes thing i found that recreate the excitement of Master of Orion II and goes a little beyond it. Essentially your goal is in this game is to build a space empire and fight enemies race for the control of the universe. You can even do so in multiplayer in a very smartly developed implementation. Most battle happen near planet and it can turn a little repetitive so the main interest is to customize your ships and that bring you some diversity in the combats and while the graphique may not look super good. I must say i was very surprised by how fun battle look and the look like what a good space battle should look like. Missiles, rocket, laser, mass driver, beam, phaser, anti matter weapon, torpedo, turret fire all around, explosion all around the place with fighter entering the melee. In clear it’s really good stuff. There is a Sword of the Star 2 in the work and i think it will be worth keeping an eye on. But until then i think this game is great and worth a try.

Lionheart: The King’s Crusade

Posted by Attila On February - 12 - 2011

Lionheart: The King’s Crusade is a rts that is similar to Total War series when it comes to battle. But the similarity is visual mostly. When it comes to how you actually play Lionheart: The King’s Crusade it really does feel like Total War. First of all the graphic look very good, no question about it. The units are diversified and you unlock them after performing missions for each factions. Your units gain experience and you can boost them a lot so that ultimately they can essentially take on many enemy units. Moral and stamina play a role in the game and using some strategy can be usefull. But overall tactic is pretty basic in this game and when the battle is engaged you can only see a bunch of units moving is chaos against each other. Units don’t keep spacing much between each other and that really ruin the feeling of the battle Lionheart: The King’s Crusade provide. Units also have a tendency to attack without orders enemies nearby. So this game is ok for a short while but it doesn’t have the gameplay mechanic refinement of Total War. This mean it actually could be a good game to beginner in that style of game since it really isn’t too complicated. Since the campaign is a series of missions and region to conquer, there isn’t much playability. There is a Multiplayer but i didn’t tryed it, it may be fun, but that’s speculation from my part. I think the company that did this game actually has potential to make great games once they figure out how to make unit respect spacing and formations because i think they have undeniable talent and potential.

Pat & Mat Gameplay

Posted by Attila On February - 12 - 2011

Pat & Mat is a game that is base on a TV series of stop motion characters. So the game really follow the style from the original universe. Unlike what i usual show… (fps, rts) This game actually give different type of puzzle to solve. There is image puzzle and the first one i do is one is in motion. Kinda challenging after losing brain cells to Call of Duty Black Ops. I must say the puzzle were entertaining and the music make it a very joyful experience.

The second part of the video show mini pot. That’s a really fun part of the game and probably the most accessible to every one. After each level it gets harder and at some point you may have some difficulty and that’s what is fun about it.

The game also contain a small puzzle where you move characters around to fix the wheel of the cars using original ways to achieve it.

Finally the game contain a mode that will test your short term memory by asking you to look a Pat & Mat that have some cloths on and then you will have to re equip them as they were. That’s very challenging but could actually train your mind into something better…

So it’s a funny game and a radical change from killing everything that move like in my other games… ;)
I hope you enjoyed the unusual video. =)
