Rome Total War – Roma – episode 1

Posted by Kinshejsi On March - 31 - 2007

I’ve begun making some chronicles of the Roman Wars, in Rome Total War, now that Attila has stopped :D , I just downloaded RTR, I play it on medium because I didn’t know what to expect of the game mod, or how difficult it is, turned out not so hard. :P

It appears that my copy of Rome has broken. Just in the middle of playing this happens

I reload the game, and it gets worse!

I shut down my computer, restarted the game with a new campaign and it still persists. Looks like I have to reinstall it. :(

Has anyone seen this before?

Medieval II Total War Kingdoms

Posted by Attila On March - 30 - 2007

I’m not a big fan of playing the marketing game… but well since most people here are Medieval II Total War Fans, here we go with a trailers of the expansion.

Medieval II: Total War. Kingdoms will feature four new campaigns. Britannia, The Crusades, The Teutonic Wars and The Americas.

Some of the 23 playable factions join the melee, including Native American and European factions. More than 150 new units grace the battlefield, including the deadly Greek Flamethrower.

Kingdoms also features the ability to control multiple armies, including reinforcement armies, while new historical characters and events appear, such as the rise of titanic figures like William Wallace. With many new mission types, six new multiplayer scenarios and 20 new custom battle maps, Kingdoms is a fantastic addition to Medieval II Total War.

Sins of a Solar Empire

Posted by Attila On March - 28 - 2007

Today, for a change here are some video from Sins of a Solar Empire Beta 1 that came out last day for those who pre-ordered it. This is a really nice game so far with big battle, diplomacies, technology exploration, etc.

You can zoom from planet sector to the galaxy really easily and as empires grow bigger. The fleets follow in size. Since it’s still a beta and the final version won’t come out before the end of the summer note that it’s more then likely the game will be improved on many aspect in the future. So enjoy the early preview :)

This battle was easy since it was mostly a finishing move against the faction. There was many fighter around but not that many frigate or capital ship.

This one is actually the second attack on this planet, my first attack was exterminated by a crazy number of fighter that destroyed my 4 capital ships and a couple of frigate. The annoying part of this is that since the resource are getting low I had to buys on the market most of the metal and crystal to build ships, that was expensive! but here is the resulting battle.

Rainbow Six Vegas Walkthrough part-3 Downtown Vegas

Posted by Attila On March - 27 - 2007

Today I updated my Rainbow Six Vegas Walkthrough by adding the Rainbow Six Vegas Walkthrough part-3 Downtown Vegas. This part of the game is where it that’s getting serious in the game with better well armed terrorist. It’s also some of the best designed level of the game it sure worth a look. It really does look like an action movie. :D

Company of Heroes – Attacking a port

Posted by Attila On March - 26 - 2007

Last day I reinstalled Company of Heroes. It’s a RTS kind of game with really nice graphic. When you zoom close to the units it looks as good as some first person shooter game. Over all it’s a funny game, but once the campaign is done there is not that much interest after (in my opinion). Unless you enjoy the multiplayer a lot. I must say I’m not a big fanatic of the multiplayer; it’s far too much “tactical” for a strategy game.

If you really want to become good at that game you need to make a lot of micro management and that annoy me a lot.

That’s what I like about Total War, you send your unit to fight and you don’t have to bother that much about them since they are able tot take care of themselves.

Anyway here is a nice video of Company of Heroes, if you can notice the ammo hitting armor and flying in the air (that’s cool stuff). ;)

Halo Combat Evolved Attila meeting

Posted by Attila On March - 25 - 2007

So here is the result of the match I organized with youtuber and people of dateyourgame. Was interesting. We played with 16 player and it was a lot of fun, some player were really good and all. Anyway, enjoy! :D

Here are the finals Episode where I win the campaign. If you want any more campaign chronicles, feel free to make a donation. At that point I have nothing more to gain from making any more videos of Medieval II Total War or Rome Total War. Just watching back all I created would take you weeks so time to stop :)

This Battle is against 3 polish army. So my strategy was to hold the hill and use my missile units as much I could. This was an imperative since the Polish have many missile cavalry. I deployed all my spearman into circle to be able to hold against a greater number of cavalry this worked really well as you can see.

THE END

You can download a Holy Roman Empire save pack with save from turn 34 to 85 that are turns not recorded. Simply put the file in you save folder.

I hope you enjoyed all those chronicles, now Time for me to diversifies myself a little. :D

At that point in the campaign it’s time to consolidate the empire, by increasing the public order and increasing the revenue. I build farm and church so that people stay happy. An other aspect that helps me a little at that point is that the pope dies. I then vote for the Portuguese cardinal because, they are not my enemies, and they clearly will win. So better vote for the next pope.

On the Danish front I advance with two army to finish them. Danish are always dangerous at the beginning of the campaign since they have good anti infantry units. By sending two army I made sure to secure the path to the last city by distracting the main Danish army from my main army on the right flank.

This is one really nice battle and it really does show the Danish infantry superiority and both armies were fighting to the Death as you can see. My cavalry was my best ally in the battle, so I used it to try to kill the enemy general but he proved to be too hard to kill. So I tried to kill as many axe infantry to allow my spearman to hold longer, but the Danish were too many and the Danish infantry was too strong for spearman units. When it was clear all was lost. I ordered my general to retreat leaving my mercenary behind to keep the enemies busy.

Considering the lost on both sides that was a really good battle. :)

Sin of a Solar Empire

Many wonder what will be next after the Campaign Chronicles, Rainbow Six and All that… Well the next game I plan to get is probably Sin of a Solar Empire. It seem to be an innovative game of space strategy. So I created a gallery on my french website so that you guys have an idea of what this game is. It really remind me of a big mix of Homeworld, Pax Imperia, Master of Orion II, Imperium Galactica, Space War Oh!, etc. So I hope it will be fun, but sure look fun base on the screenshots :D

Attila invitate you a Halo Combat Evolved Multiplayer match

Posted by Attila On March - 21 - 2007

Since people keep telling me they want to fight me, or fight with me at Halo.

I guess I will host a game of it the next week end so that every one that want to see how bad I am at this game can come and kill me as much as they want. :D

To play with me you will need.

Halo PC (version 1.0.7.613). ( without any mod and by Halo PC I don’t mean Halo CE (too lazy to install it again)).

I will be the host so you will be able to complain about my host advantage. But in general people that play on it from the West coast to Germany say I they have a good ping.

The game will be password protected so that every one on it will be from here and if no one come, too bad for them :D

Now what I would like to know is when is the best time?
I’m thinking around 4, 5 or 6h PM East Coast north america. tell me what you think?

At that point I advance against Danish with two army to capture the last city, one army will keep the enemy main army busy. The second army will go capture the last city.
I also advance against Polish.

Since, I see that the Hungarian are going to attack me at Vienna, I get my garrison out of it and get ready to flank the main Hungarian army. When you see that the computer mobilize army against you, it’s sometime the best moment to flank them and go right to the real target the cities and fort.

I also attack Milan last fort in continental Europe. The last city Milan will have is on an Island.

Homeworld 2 Gameplay

Posted by CTU Keyes On March - 20 - 2007

I recently got the game Homeworld 2…which I’m bad at…The whole space RTS thing is very new to me and I am just trying to get used to it.Well I decided to make a montage so I could cut out the bad parts(at least I’m honest). Here is my first Homeworld 2 montage called “Fighters in Action”.

and Here is the second: “Fleet Ships in Action”

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Panoramas

Posted by Attila On March - 20 - 2007

Many months ago I’ve created some cool Panoramas of different games with a very old technology that is now really rarely used anymore. So to see those Panorama of the video game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion you need to have Quicktime. You simply have to put your mouse over the image, click on the image, it will load the panorama, then once loaded click and drag horizontally to rotate! (A small hand will appear to tell you you can) I used a computer from 1995 to do that. Long live the good old MacOS 8.6… ;)

This first panorama of the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was taken on the high ground in the North; you can basically see the entire valley from there. My character was a level 43 at that point and this armor wasn’t the best but I was tired of the ugly devil armor type.

This second the Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion panorama was take in the imperial city; I think it gives you a nice idea of how great are the graphic. And note that I only had an ATI 9800pro at that moment, now with an ATI X1600pro it looks far better. :)

This third panorama of the good game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion show more the forest area, really nice looking game. :)

If you want to see them bigger you can you can see The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion panoramas on my French site enjeuxvideo.com

I will probably put more QTVR in the future for other games… stay tuned!

The first Milan city is now under my control. As you can see I leave very little troops in the city and attack the next city. When you leave few troops you can then attack very fast the next city before the enemy can react to your attack on the first one. The chances of rebellion are low at that point since it takes at least 2 turn of riot before any rebellion happen. The other important aspect you need to notice is that as soon as I take a city, I build a church, that allow me to increase the public order and make sure to reduce as fast as possible any chance of riot. Building troops is also a good way to maintain order.

The battle happens on the way to the remaining Milan Fort. I basically use my missile unit superiority to weaken the enemies before charging them. I used this tactic mostly because the Mercenary spearmen have more armor then my regular troops. I reduced by potential loss to keep a good strength to siege the fort, but at that point I don’t know what kind of garrison that fort has.

Medieval II Total War Holy Chronicles 12-13 Turn 19-23

Posted by Attila On March - 18 - 2007

Now that I destroyed the Hungarian army that took Zagreb, the path to retake it is open. But since I’m at war with many factions the Polish take this opportunity to start a war with me. The more faction are at war with you the more likely other will engage the hostility with you. At the turn 22 I start hostilities against Milan seeing a weakness and since they must be destroy in order for me to win the short campaign. You can also see that Moors landed and attacked one of my cities. But for some reason they will never attack…

So this siege is really interesting and I’m sure people will note that I had a lot of dead. Well as you will notice many of my troops are Militia and the rest are mostly cavalry and spearman. I send my militia on the wall to keep the enemy busy while my cavalry and spearman rush into the center without having anyone to resist on the way. My Cavalry Hold the center as my spearman holds the enemy so that I can win by the time. I choose that strategy because the enemies had reinforcement and winning by the time was the best way to win against the Mercenary Spearman that had better armor. By sacrificing my weak troops I made sure that my strong troop could hold the enemies away from the center later.

Medieval II Total War Holy Chronicles 11 Turn 18-19

At that point in the campaign I keep advancing against Danish since I need to destroy them to win. On the East the Hungarian are now the priority since Venice isn’t much of a problem at the moment.

This battle against the Hungarian was actually risky, the Hungarian have the relief advantage, and Hungarian noble are not to be under estimated. That why I charged on the Left to take care of them as fast as I could. After taking care of them, I redeployed ready to fight the rest of the enemies. The way they rushed against my infantry wasn’t really impressive, and they were easy to encircle and eliminate. But in my opinion it could have go wrong, especially if the enemy general had more command.
